does anyone know how to get portal on mac?

i dont know how things reallw work, but i have windows ex home edition on my mac, and steam works for me, like the window comes up, but then when i start portal, its shows the valve guy and the valve screen and then crashes before it gets to the menu. does anyone know how to get it to work :\ ?

What software are you using to run windows on the mac? Is it Parallels, VM Fusion or Boot Camp? Also, what kind of mac do you have?

I haven't tried portal, but I can run TF2 in boot camp on my MBP.
