Power supply difference

So I just recently ordered the Thermaltake 750w psu thats gold certified from Amazon during Black Friday. Anyways, I just saw that Newegg is putting an EVGA 750w psu thats bronze certified on sale for $50. I paid just over $70 for the Thermaltake. Do you guys think it would be too much fuss to go from the Thermaltake to the EVGA or go ahead with sending the Thermaltake back (it hasnt been opened yet). Mind you that im still using my current psu thats in my sig. Its still running fine; I just simply ordered this psu as a backup since my warranty is about to expire, thats all.
 
Personally with my experience I find evga power supply's to be better over themaltake. Thats my pure opinion. But I would say its completely up to you. There isnt really any difference but the certifications. The higher they are the more efficient they are. Bronze - Least Efficient and it goes up from there
 
The higher end EVGA PSU are better yes, but the B1 are very close to being trash tier in quality parts used.

Thermalfake PSU in general are trash quality, but with the few exception being the Toughpower series (gold and up) and another one that is a great quality PSU but overpriced compared to other great quality PSU.

I would stick with what the Toughpower over the B1 any day of the week.

If you plan to do any kind of serious overclocking tho I would look at a better unit like a B2/G2 or any Super Flower PSU. (seeing that you are posting this as a back up I don't think that would be the case tho).

The one thing I tell everyone when looking for new parts is that DON'T SKIMP ON THE PSU DAMN IT!
Think of the PSU as the crazy girlfriend you once had... When you guys break up she is not going to going to part ways in a friendly manner, she is going to be keying your car, slashing your tires, burning your clothes in the front lawn, and those are the good parts of a crazy ex... The ones that really hurt are the ones that make it seem they were not crazy but after you break up she has been stalking you for weeks, maybe months sabotaging little things here and there. Maybe a ram stick goes bad (easy fix), maybe lose voltage to a usb port (fine I got plenty I don't need that one), and maybe just a case fan goes out. But when you think everything is fine boom the PSU starts sparking and smoking and takes out everything it can in the bad break up.

i prefer evga for 2 reasons

1.great quaility

This. The warranty is pretty good. However I would spend a little bit extra if anything and try to get the GOLD rated one. Just picked up an Supernova 750 with a crazy good warranty on it, never been happier.
