Official Community Management Statement

lol you all are dramatic af talking about leaders and stuff saying if somebody unknown comes to take over you won't support the servers anymore.

when c-whit came in straight from no where no one said anything and cs was doing great for the years he was here and he came to be one of the best council ive seen in my nearly 8 years here, and i know for sure he was unknown at least in css since he came from dods council. as long as the new person comes in and actually wants to help, whats the problem?

If someone from another division gets promoted to CS leadership and they never even touched CS, I'm not gonna fill servers for him/her.

A mindset like this is a selfish one that does not support the growth of eGO as a whole.

If that person is as charismatic as a sack of potatoes then why would i support them vs someone who would have been a lot more enjoyable, charismatic and well received by the division as a whole?

If I were to join PSC and in a day be promoted to DL, you would hate me. I know nothing about your job yet already 1 rank ahead of you and now your boss. This concept works the same but with CS.

If you bring in someone to do a job that knows nothing about their field of work and then expect the community to openly accept them, you are wrong.

What spark said is true though, C-Whit was amazing at what he did, but he was just 1 person being switched, not an entire team.

I don't understand this statement.

Look at our server rankings, most of them are in the 4000's minus TTT.

Does this mean that everyone is out of touch with the eGO's CS:GO community?

If we weren't out of touch, would we have servers in the same ranks like TTT?

It doesn't take some stupid tag to be a Leader, and it doesn't matter who gets appointed. Results matter. The people that make these results matter. Who cares if they were here 10 years ago or if they were here for two months? Dedication is what matters.

Anyone can wear a tag, not everyone can be a Leader.

If you guys were in touch you would know that all of our server ranks plummeted when we came across server issues that made our servers crash every 10 minutes. We never quite recovered from that.

In fact, it DOES matter who they appoint. I know the CS division, and I KNOW they will not respect some dude who used to play CSS and lead the division a few years a go. Im not trying to start shit, just stating facts. If the divisions members do not know the leaders at all, they will not care about the division one bit. Enfo said it perfectly.

A leader leads by example not by force - Sun Tzu

Whoever the CS division gets as leadership will spend a lot of time earning the trust and respect of its' members. You cannot buy nor demand respect.

The next leadership of the division must not only have cohesion between themselves but that of their division as well because united the division will grow else it will wither away.

This is actually a good quote.

who tf are they gonna bring in then? use your head for a minute, there is NOBODY else other than legend and he is the best choice atm on such short notice since he has multiple years of experience with CS:S. you all decided to leave at the exact same moment and this has never happened before, ever. of course normally if the council member leaves, if the DL(s) are competent enough they will be moved up to council but obviously there's no one left. since theres literally no leadership left you should know as previous leadership that you cant just promote an eGO to council straight away. its just too much access to be given. so who else is going to come in? unless one of the former council want to come back and the board lets them, there is no other choice. you're acting like theres a pool of available leadership and they made a poor choice. obviously i dont know the situation that made you all decide to go at once, but you guys didnt exactly leave them with much of an option.

like i said before, as long as the new leadership want to help and want the division to succeed why are you guys going to not respect them? just cause you don't know them? get to know them then, its not that hard.

It is OK that the Counter Strike members are being a little bit selfish right now. Most of them only want what is best for their division but its just not clear what the outcome will be right now. Humans are always scared of the unknown.

I'll send anyone some good vibes toward those that needs them right now.

Agreed. Everyone is afraid of change. I'm sure it will all turn out good in the end.

Excuse me, I don't think this garbage is necessary in my thread. Let's have real talk.

I have been a Leadership member for over six years involved in just about every aspect of this community. I am more than capable of not only running this division, but selecting individuals I can trust to lead and be successful at it. The individuals selected will be more than capable of stepping up and doing the tasks at hand. I don't care how long they have been in EdgeGamers, I don't care how long they have been in Counter-Strike, most importantly I don't care if you approve of them. They will be a part of a successful team to bring server ranks up, bring in recruits, and host amazing events and contests for you all. Why will the team be successful? My mission is to make Counter-Strike as big as possible. I will accept nothing but success. The people on my team will make it happen.

Let's be blunt here. If you do not trust me to make the appropriate and right decisions then you are not here for EdgeGamers. Send me a private message and I will remove your access to the community immediately. I'm not here to deal with drama queens, I am not here to play your stupid games. The rest of the community doesn't want to see or hear your crap either. Do all of us a favor and see yourself out so we, the people who actually care about the future of EGO, can have fun and play games.

I'm prepared to take on the task of making Counter-Strike and EdgeGamers amazing. I hope you all will be on board.

i love you

Everyone who was at least a DL at some point nodded their heads while reading this.

I wish there was an upvote system or something. That post was absolutely perfect Legend. 100/10

Really?

I'm pretty sure the post I just saw relates to people in the 40's getting burned for being in the wrong religion.

Basically if you agree, go on, or else step down.

After stepping down, I'm sick of all these past members all of a sudden coming in. Where were they when we were trying to fill our new servers???

We did our job an tried to get everyone in our community involved. Now that we have left, there is so much nonsense going on. I sure hope whatever new leadership comes in can help in getting our rankings back up, maybe finding something the past leadership has missed. I wish nothing but the best for eGO as this has been my life for 7 years. While I do disagree with Legends post, they will still do what they need to do make this division as good as its always been.

I know right?

Like where were they when they wanted Zombie Mod/Escape, Highschool, Assault Redux, Jail, More Jail, Minigames, Surf, Bhop, etc

Its like all of sudden they come to voice but when it comes to action no one cares... I tried to revive Jail and it just doesn't work when 90% of the players talk the talk but wont walk the walk and help it prosper... Welcome to my last 8 years @_@

I totally agree with you. You came back in Jail and I thought that you coming back would help the server, but no one ever shows up. People say one thing and do another. We need a community that wants to help on every server, no matter if they don't like that server or not. Do your part, help get it started and move on to your favorite server.

I want to remind everyone that no one has been appointed a position in Leadership. You're all making fuss over nothing.

I do agree with some of what is being said.

For those who miraculously come back and say they are active members of the community, where have you been the entire time?

Most that have come back, have just bought CS:GO within the past few weeks.

What most members and members who have recently left the community are afraid of, is people walking in who haven't even been on our servers and expect to make drastic changes, when the rest of us are still afraid that we won't even have the division we love anymore.

I do thank Legend for taking a step in and at least trying to get a grasp while the rest of leadership leaves. The one thing I do worry about is the rest of everyone else coming out of the woodworks and acting like they've been here the whole time.

I write this not because I'm mad, not because I'm out to get anyone, but because I'm genuinely interested in the moving forward of the CS division, and thought I'd give my two cents.

I'm more than aware who does what around here. I know who talks the talk and walks the walk. I also know who I can trust to do an effective job at leading this division. I've asked for time to work it all out the least you all could do is let me have the time. I haven't made ANY DECISIONS or ANY CHANGES and you're al losing your minds.

I've been here before. This isn't my first rodeo. Let me do what I know how to do.
