Official Community Management Statement

I'm more than aware who does what around here. I know who talks the talk and walks the walk. I also know who I can trust to do an effective job at leading this division. I've asked for time to work it all out the least you all could do is let me have the time. I haven't made ANY DECISIONS or ANY CHANGES and you're al losing your minds.

I've been here before. This isn't my first rodeo. Let me do what I know how to do.

If you dont want discussion then why not just shut down the CS forums for now? People arnt trying to piss you off, but rather have a discussion about whats going to happen and you refuse to talk about it.

If you don't have a plan yet go ahead and say it, no shame in that. But let us know whats going on instead of just saying "Guys I got it, calm down"

It's the responsibility of Leadership to worry about the direction of EdgeGamers. You will all know our plans with time and when it's appropriate.

I do agree with some of what is being said.

For those who miraculously come back and say they are active members of the community, where have you been the entire time?

Most that have come back, have just bought CS:GO within the past few weeks.

What most members and members who have recently left the community are afraid of, is people walking in who haven't even been on our servers and expect to make drastic changes, when the rest of us are still afraid that we won't even have the division we love anymore.

I do thank Legend for taking a step in and at least trying to get a grasp while the rest of leadership leaves. The one thing I do worry about is the rest of everyone else coming out of the woodworks and acting like they've been here the whole time.

I write this not because I'm mad, not because I'm out to get anyone, but because I'm genuinely interested in the moving forward of the CS division, and thought I'd give my two cents.

i guess im one of the people you're referring to. i left leadership in 2015(2014?) and graduated early this year and joined a company as a software engineer. i pretty much stopped playing games for the most part but i still read these forums daily even if i dont post much, because i still enjoy reading whats going on with the division. im sure most people "returning" are like me who still lurk the forums even if they don't post anymore and are just shocked to see the news.

as far as the "where were you when we tried to fill up the servers?" i dont really see the correlation to this. i filled servers for 5+ years when i was here and doubly so during my 2+ years as leadership. once i "left", i never suggested any new servers or changes to them, ever. the only thing i made mention of with this situation is calling out one of the ex-leadership members on doubting legend coming in as the stand-in council member, even before he could even do anything yet. just cause im inactive playing wise doesn't mean i dont want to see the division do well. if i didn't like this place i wouldn't have spent 8 years here.

Im not worried about the direction of EdgeGamers, I'm worried about my division and whats going to happen. Its the the responsibility of us all to worry about whats going to happen, its leaderships job to put those words into action.

Trust the leadership responsible for EdgeGamers, who have earned the right to lead, will make the best decisions for EGO. Complaining before any kinds of decisions or changes are made is senseless.

I'm not talking about you.

Legend's post was out of necessity due to the sudden lack of CS LE and the effects that arise because of that, as we have already seen. He's not gonna let everyone just walk over him. I've been in a similar (albeit not as extreme) situation and sometimes the blunt words are needed. Let him do his stuff.

But when you hear "Trust us" Thousands of times from the same person without any form of action, the word starts to lose its meaning.

Please don't appoint people who are out of touch with the general CS:GO community, as well as the EGO CS community (such as myself). There are plenty of active, mature CS division members who definitely have the potential to be great leaders. So please don't try to run this yourself or import other leadership who are not active within the CS division. And no, active does not mean being in teamspeak since Sunday.

Put me in coach

I think that our servers being in the 4000's suggest that we are out of touch with the general CS:GO community rather than EGO's. Whenever a server launches there has always been a lot of support for it but eventually that support dies when it does not attract new members. Naturally players will prefer a single server (most preferring TTT atm), and if a new server does not attract new users who adopt that as their new favorite server, the population will eventually drop to near 0. This is due to all those people who prefer TTT going back to play their favorite server.

I agree that it doesn't take a tag to be a leader, I don't care if someone has only been here for a week, that doesn't push them to the side when I think of potential leadership. I was mostly trying to convey that Legend shouldn't appoint people who are here just for the glory. He should be looking for people who actually care about the community here and haven't just come back since the event on Sunday at an attempt to become leadership.

lol you all are dramatic af talking about leaders and stuff saying if somebody unknown comes to take over you won't support the servers anymore.

when c-whit came in straight from no where no one said anything and cs was doing great for the years he was here and he came to be one of the best council ive seen in my nearly 8 years here, and i know for sure he was unknown at least in css since he came from dods council. as long as the new person comes in and actually wants to help, whats the problem?

If you guys were in touch you would know that all of our server ranks plummeted when we came across server issues that made our servers crash every 10 minutes. We never quite recovered from that.

In fact, it DOES matter who they appoint. I know the CS division, and I KNOW they will not respect some dude who used to play CSS and lead the division a few years a go. Im not trying to start shit, just stating facts. If the divisions members do not know the leaders at all, they will not care about the division one bit. Enfo said it perfectly.

who tf are they gonna bring in then? use your head for a minute, there is NOBODY else other than legend and he is the best choice atm on such short notice since he has multiple years of experience with CS:S. you all decided to leave at the exact same moment and this has never happened before, ever. of course normally if the council member leaves, if the DL(s) are competent enough they will be moved up to council but obviously there's no one left. since theres literally no leadership left you should know as previous leadership that you cant just promote an eGO to council straight away. its just too much access to be given. so who else is going to come in? unless one of the former council want to come back and the board lets them, there is no other choice. you're acting like theres a pool of available leadership and they made a poor choice. obviously i dont know the situation that made you all decide to go at once, but you guys didnt exactly leave them with much of an option.

like i said before, as long as the new leadership want to help and want the division to succeed why are you guys going to not respect them? just cause you don't know them? get to know them then, its not that hard.

If you guys don't like me so much, just say it. No need to be be this passive aggressive on it and not name someone. Just say my name instead of beating around the bush.

I did not "just comeback this weekend". I have been working behind the scenes with upper leadership on a couple of things but everyone was keeping it close to the vest. If you don't think someone who literally started the Division has the best interests at heart, then I don't know what to say. Its not like anything has been decided yet either.

Spark is the only one who made any sense at all so far.

It's Christmas time, and I'm in no rush to make hasty or rushed decisions. Time. Everyone needs to relax and let some time go past. All of these senseless decisions people are making are dumb. If people care about EGO let's just play games and have fun. The Leadership have everything under control behind the scenes.

Sorry, those posts weren't directed towards you.

I think everyone is forgetting the underlying reason we all joined in the first place: to have fun and make some friends. What does it matter if you don't approve of leadership as long as they promote the core values we all joined for. And if you feel they haven't, you're free to leave.

Yea sorry I meant to say thank you for actually talking sense. I forgot to separate them all with how many were in there.
