I played last week for over 2 hrs without any issues. Ping has always been below 30-40. Ive reinstalled my network drivers, restarted my router, kicked all the connections off other than just my PC. Other servers I dont see an issue with but on Ava im seeing latency of 500+

Was anything recently done to the server? I know thats not probably the case because others are playing but is anyone else seeing this issue?

I ran a speed test and I ping 26ms with 82 down and 34 up so i know my service is solid.

:cursing:

I have had that problem too with ava and donner server a few weeks ago. But after a few hours everything returned to normal.

been ok for me - played on kalt yesterday and the server was full -been awhile for kalt to be full -had a blast!

You still having a problem Jakemac?

I was going to suggest since you have tried most obvious, there is two other things:

During the high pings, if it holds high ping for a good bit of time:

1. Toggle out of game, ctrl/alt/delete to the task manager to see if there are any other processes consuming CPU %. One solution is to increase dods priority and lower other processes priority.

2. DSL reports (www.dslreports.com), Tools, run line quality test. (get free account if needed). Run the test. It will give you ping traceroute from your computer and from an external server to your computer. If it is an ISP problem, this test will show it and which router is causing the problem. With this information saved, you can submit the trace routes for ISP problem ticket.

Yea I forgot to mention that I did that. Figured I'd leave every specific out of the picture. I know its not my machine but the tracert i haven't done yet with a DSL report to the DODs server. I'll probably try it again in the morning.

The very best feature of the DSLreports.com line quality test is it provides you an external server pinging to your router. This external test eliminates "ALL you ISP questions" of rebooting your computer and router and show specifically which router in the ISP service is causing the problem.
This gets you off level 1 to level 2 customer service techs. Which is your goal always in dealing with your ISP.
