Because I like asking you guys about some pretty useless stuff I thought of making a thred about your favourite things in TF2 whether you want to talk about your favourite class, weapon, map or something else you could think of!
I think I'll just go ahead and post something about my favourite melee weapons! :P
Many of you guys already know that I really REALLY love my wrench but it isn't the only melee weapon I like...
There is the bat for example: I can do things with the speed of the scout and the bat I could never do with my beloved wrench. You may think that I dislike or even HATE the saw. But I don't. I like the saw I just like my wrench more!
(I hope I started the Wrench vs. Bonesaw battle again ;))

So now it is up to you guys! I wanna know what your favourites are!

My favorite thing and what keeps me playing the game, is that no single player can consistently decide the outcome of a match. Sure, a spy might get a sneak cap while the team is choked up or a heavy might pull of a clutch defense against multiple enemies. But in the long run, no single player can win the game alone. This, in my opinion, is what sets the game above other shooters where a twitch kid that plays for 10 hours every day can own half a team and solo win.

Good point there.
I don't say "It's called TEAM fortress for a reason" for nothing.
Even if it is sometimes fun to own three/four/five enemies all alone but it is just way more fun to play with your friends or some randoms.

^I totally agree^
The thing i like most is the fact that you have to combine skill with logic...i mean take the engineer for an example....you have to know where to put your sg to help the team but also know where to put it so it doesnt just die after the first 3 kills...

I'm not totally with you on this. It depends. In the eGO servers, that's right, no one can win by himself, unless he's alone on the server. However, in other servers, before I knew you guys, more often than you'd think of, I was winning all by myself. Either caught all the intelligences in 2fort or was able to cap all points in orangeX.

What I like most: The sniper. It's the most useful class when there is a long corridor with people camping at the end of it. Sure, a soldier can spam rockets and hope to get something, but a sniper is able to cut fast in the key opponents heads. An exemple: In warpath, when an engineer (wow, that's not spelled right :'( ) goes past the defense and builds stuff up behind, a sniper just has to headshot him, then destroy the teleporter and sentry, and the outpost is down.

Another thing I like is sitting behind an ennemy teleporter's exit and wait for people to teleport. Then, I melee them and by the time they understand what's happening, they're dead ^_^ Some even try to come back by the teleporter and melee me, but they always come with their back facing me. I even heard one person say: Why can't you destroy the teleporter like everyone else? You're a monster
^_^

To expand on Lafin's point, the game encourages solid and fun team interaction because team work is so necessary. That means it never feels like you might as well be in "arcade" mode and the other players might as well be AI. TF2 just isn't like that. It's always different because the teams learn to adapt and counter each other as rounds advance.

One of my favorite things about the game is the variety. For example:
I loved sniper very much, but got bored, and switched to pyro.*STARTED PLAYING*
I loved pyro very much, but got bored, and switched to soldier
I loved soldier very much, but got bored, and switched to heavy.
I loved heavy very much, but got bored, and switched to scout.
I loved scout very much, but sucked, and switched to Medic.*PRESENT DAY*

So, as you see, there is so much you can do, and now with new weapons, there is even more you can do in the future.

Medic. I absolutely love playing as the medic, which does come as a surprise to me because of my old WoW days when I played a rogue and hated playing healing classes - people get so abusive when they die in WoW, in TF2 you're pretty much expected to die, therefor if you die it's no *real* big deal.

Because I'm new-ish to TF2 and the TF game style my thoughts on how the game runs are probably not normal.

Looking forward to healing you all :D

My favorite part of TF2 is the kind of new style (well new from what i have seen) of fps' where many nodes are locked and have to be progressively unlocked which prevent opposing teams from sneaking through and capping bases in the back of maps, this is also used in Frontlines FOW which i played before this ( which is a good game i think, now that they fixed many of it bugs but it was so bugged from the beginning that no one plays on the multiplayer servers). also my favorite class is the spy. I dont know why i guess i just have the most fun playing that class.....when there are no pyros around anyway.

Well, after reading everyone's posts, I have one thing for sure.

My favorite line in the game: "Spy's sappin' mah sentry!"
My 2nd favorite line: "Take it like a man, shorty!"
My 3rd favorite line: a tie between that thing the pyro says and "cry some more!"

:)

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens. These are a few of my favorite things.

(Yeah, I'm a dork.)

Well you are keeping my thread alive. ;)
Anyway, I'm bored so I want to tell you something about my favourites!

First thing would be my beloved engineer. There is NO other class I like as much as my engi. <3
It is so much fun to play him. I'll never get bored of him.
The class I like the most after my engineer would be the scout. I like everything about him! The speed, the weapons, the appereance of him and so on. A big plus is that he is a bit like the engineer... You know, the weapons they have and abit the way you play them (I don't mean the campin' engis I am speakin' of offensive engineers!). BONK!
Next is ze übermensch. I just like him. The way he speaks. The way he acts. he way he CONTROLS the unaware "workers" like a hive king/queen. :P
(I still can't really decide what class I like more the scout or the medic...)
I could tell you more but I'm to lazy to type all of that. For now.

Favorite thing in tf2?

The camaderie, plain and simple. No static game for me, the day people start being boring is the day i leave.
