Banned Because of Clan

I am new to your clan and want to say hello to everyone. I just wanted to bring this to attention. After the whole servers going nuts thing of yesterday I have discovered something. Some in the clan has been giving the whole clan a bad name. I don't know who exactly though. Here is what happened:

When the servers started to go nuts I went to another server and got kicked right away for no reason. Then I went to another clan server and got kicked too! The clan was DoC. I went back in and asked why and the admin said that our clan was not welcome there. I thought maybe there was a feud or something going on, but it was much worse. Some clan member with the =e= tag was hacking and cheating on their servers and they decided to ban everyone with that tag. I am new here and I am sure that type of thing is not tolerated, or at least I hope so. I gave the admin the address to this site and am not sure if they have contacted anyone yet or not.

I am concerned because I don't want to be associated with hackers and cheaters. I also don't liked being banned because of a few letters in front of my name. Hopefully they have contacted the admins for this clan and that person will be banned. If this continues to happen I would have no choose but to leave the clan. I don't want to since people have been real nice to me, but I don't want to be singled out for something I didn't do and have no control over. Hopefully this whole mess will be taken care of soon, and I can enjoy playing with everyone. Thanks for reading.

More likely it is some punk who decided to take being removed from our servers personally. As many people appreciate the strict rules of our server, there are those that resent them. This isn't the first time one of our members has been banned from servers run by those we banned ourselves.

I don't speak from personal experience of course, because I never play anywhere else.

I read, and I understand.

The thing with this clan is that we do from time to time get a few bad eggs. Many of them get weeded out earlier because of no obeying the rules on eGO servers, but there are some who think that just because they aren't on an eGO server, they can do whatever the hell they want and get away with it. This is indeed false.

What some e's do not realize is that tag is like a uniform. If you see a cop robbing a bank, that would shock you, right? It is the same rule with the tag.

If you would like to leave to clan in concern over this issue, it would make sense, but of course, that is up to you.

Like Booster and Lafin have already said, a few bad apples have given us a bad name (this is bound to happen with such a large community as ours is). And just as Booster pointed out, our clan demands a level of maturity that few other clans require.

What some recruits (those with the =e= tags) fail to realize is that whenever you have your tags on, you are representing the clan (Booster covered this above and Mental Buga has a fairly recent topic that covers this as well). What fails to be seen in this specific instance is whether or not this person that was banned from these servers is/was an actual member of our clan or whether it was an impostor (the highest level of flattery in the most awkward of ways that is largely detrimental to our reputation, but anyone who has visited us and educated themselves about our clan should quickly realize that we strive to be the very best clan in every way possible for our members and guests).

As large as our clan is and with the influx of people that we constantly have going in and out, it's hard to know whether or not this person was a real recruit/member or whether or not they were impersonating to give a bad name to our clan. Quite frankly if this other clan is unwilling to provide additional information to us on what (our) people are doing there, it makes it difficult to maintain good relations with them as we can't police all our members on other servers, but should it be found out that such a recruit or member was behaving this poorly in other servers while wearing their tags, they would be swiftly dealt with by the Council. Couple this with the fact that we have no proof that they (this other clan) are telling the truth or it's possible that they have just been PO'd by being kicked/banned from our servers and therefore have made a decision to kick/ban eGO members on sight.

That being said, eGO takes such offenses very seriously but we have little recourse to discipline/punish people that do such things without it being brought to our attention. If this other clan knew the slightest bit about our standards for our members and the community at large, then they would understand that this supposed member's behavior is absolutely unacceptable. But, in regards to your ultimatum on leaving, we can all understand that you would like to play on as many servers as possible but we can't tell other clans how they should run their servers in addition to who they should allow. I hope that you realize that we stand for the highest values possible and strive to set an example for not only other clans, but for the community as a whole and if you can get past the fact that some clans are going to not respect this fact then I think you will find that our clan will provide a lot of good for yourself.

Find their forums and do a fair, polite and professional post about the incident. If they respond poorly to it, then you wouldn't really want to play on their servers anyway.
