What are people finding that works well? I just cannot find much consistency in this game. I do like the system where you can choose what weapons you really want rather than having to wait to unlock things. However, level 10 takes a while to get to if you don't spend your time all in one class to get that great weapon.

I am trying my best not to go sniper (and still haven't played as one) but some of these weapons are just frustrating. I know it's WW1, but just wow sometimes. I have played all BFs since 1942 and I don't remember weapons being this frustrating for a learning curve.

For your aim, I found this helps:

Options > control > advanced > scroll to the bottom > turn soldier aim option to "ON" > put co-efficiency down to 0%. As soon as i did this my accuracy shot up dramatically. :D

Looking forward to trying this. Thanks for the reply. What are some of your favorite guns thus far?

Check your ping as well if it is around 100 go to another server your just wasting time otherwise

Not all the lvl 10 guns are that great. The only two classes work getting to 10 would be assult and recon.

Not necessarily, i average 120-135 ping and manage just fine :)

yeah during the day I have ~100 ping when playing on the east coast servers with everyone (I'm west coast). I feel bad for LBr when he has to play on west coast servers with us lol

I'm pretty sure it's best to leave the coefficient to the default 133%. But yes, definitely turn uniform soldier aiming on.

I was using sniper and shotgun, but then they nerfed shotgun and sniper is hit or miss. Game is meh imo....

Immediately had better aim when on 0%, almost never miss my sniper rounds

Yeah it's really about finding a coefficient that feels good for you. In the forum posts I will list below, you can see common misconceptions of universal soldier aiming and the coefficient, and what is actually happening. The posts I will note are created by CTE testers who designed and implemented this feature into BF4.

In this first link, pay special attention to posts by TheNoobPolice:

This following link is by a CTE member who played a big part of designing and testing this feature for DICE:

The TL;DR is to find something that feels good to you, but it is important to understand exactly what is happening when you adjust this setting.

I found BF1 infantry to be easier than BF4.

If you're playing support, go for any one of the BAR rifles. They're amazing.

I find infantry gameplay on BF1 easier to adapt to.

So far my favorite weapons per class are as follows:

Assault: Hellriegal, Automatico 1918 Storm, Model 10-A Hunter.

Support: MG15 nA Storm, M1918 BAR (all variants)

Medic: Mondragon Storm and Sniper, Seblstlader 1916 Marksman

Recon: Gewehr 98 Marksman, M1903 Sniper, Gewehr M.95 Infantry, Martini-Henry

Pistols: M1911, No. 3 Revolver

I noticed the inconsistency mostly with sniper rifles. Fire a round down range and it goes over the head, put my reticule in the exact same spot and I've seen the round go off to left or right, or hit the target, or fall short. Making zero movement target not moving etc. I also noticed when you ads with a sniper rifle, fire a round, chamber next round (without moving mouse mind you) and ads again the reticule is off instead of being in same spot.
