Grenadier Class - Idea for DoW

I am assuming that eGO will pick up DoW and have their own servers for the game. Hopefully, the game will turn out to be something great. In that case here is an idea that I had that maybe some of you would find interesting.

A flaw in DOD is that rifles, heavies, and lights, have nades. Nades end up ruining the flow of the game on some maps. A great example is dod_avalanche. When allies are pushing the first flag, the enemy nades, make it impossible for the allies to do anything, other than blindly running in and hoping for the best. The same with fountain, when both teams are nade stacking the fountain, rifles are practically useless on the fountain, they cannot see anything, and their aim is thrown off with all the heavy shaking.

Let us do the math. Allies have 2 snipers (no nades), 2 mgs (no nades), 1 rocket (no nades), that leaves 11 slots. Assuming there are 4 assaults, and the other 7 are heavies and rifles, that gives a grand total of 4 + 14 = 18 frag nades. That is how many enemy nades are being used on the server. That is quite a lot.

Here is a suggestion. Eliminate nades from all classes (not for DOD, this is a suggestion for DOW before you make an official decision), and instead have the Grenadier Class. The GC will have a total of 6 nades, and say 2 smokes. Each team will be limited to two GC players. Making a grand total of 12 nades per side, significantly less.

I know that some players in DOD love playing as the grenadier. Some people are talented with nades. They get most of their kills from nades. They would absolutely love having 6 frag nades to take advantage of their nade-talents. I can already see some players exclusively playing with nades only and doing well on the server. It will be their responsibility to clear out pathways and enemy mg's.

One can always try this idea and see how it turns out.

Possible Counter-Argument.

One can argue that having a GC is too much responsibility. Nades are excellent for clearing out enemy mg's and snipers and holding of enemy rushes. Having just two GC's control that for the team is too little. With the current nade-settings most of the team have nades, and they can use them to stop rushes and clear mgs. But if the GC dies, then the entire team has to wait for the GC to respawn to clear out the mg. Though we will only know if the GC is experimented with.
