Bad Company 2 Need all bbc2 heavy metal server regulars to read and respond plz.. Help!!!!!

Thank for taking a second to respond, I hadn't missed a day playing on the heavy metal server in almost 2 years... After a new computer build i started playing b4, and recently bf1.. Recentely almost exactly one year without without playing on our heavy metal server I started playing again but noticed that my pings were not so good around 125ms... this may seem like a decent ping but having a great ping is a huge advantage, especially when guiding rockets...So here is where hopefully you great people can help me with.. A year ago my pings would never exceed 75ms.Now even after troubleshooting anything and everything on my side, including calling my isp i cant get any better than 125ms.. has something changed in this server, or am I solely the one who has experienced this.
 
The bad news, I cannot help. My pings are typically in the 125-170 range and have been since forever.

The good news, I have another excuse for being a lousy player that can't see or hit anything.
 
You said it has been a year. In the past year, we have moved servers from Florida to Dallas to Chicago. I am not sure if the BFBC2 server was also moved like our source servers, but it probably was. Being in Georgia I loved the Florida pings, so did a lot of the south/central American players who liked the TX pings too. I'm not sure where you are located. But I still get 30-40 pings now, so it's still great, 14 was nicer :D

Thanks for responding fellas, I live in Idaho so, minus a couple hundred miles its probably about the same. My question is answered, the server moving would explain my ping increase. Thanks again.
 
Hopefully someone from the BF division could respond. When I joined eGO, the servers were in Florida back in Nov of 2015 (At least for source games). Florida is a lot further away from Idaho than Chicago is, so I don't see why your ping would increase with the server moving closer. Is it even normal to have 125 ping from East to West coast?

My ping has slightly improved in the last few months, but nothing drastic. The game does seem to be a lot more stable for me recently, though...last night was the first time I'd been kicked to desktop in a long time..whether that's related, I dunno. Ping has always been around 130-150 in-game, no matter the location of the server. Alberta's speeds suck compared to the rest of the country.
 
My ping (So. Cal.) is still generally around 100. It might go as low as 70, or rise to 150; sometimes it jumps over 250.

More interesting is the sudden rubber banding lag that I've found about half the time, almost always when joining a full server, and lasting for quite a few minutes. Nothing like running up to knife a guy and then finding yourself 20 meters from him and running up to knife a guy!

From this traceroute the server is in Dallas, Texas and attempts to trace to your IP in Boise, Idaho the areas where it seems to get stuck are between Dallas IPs in 1, 2, and 3 to the a hard traced IP on Quests network which seems to run somewhere in Kansas. Then the IP routing from Kansas to Idaho gets hung up. I would check with Quest to see if there is a way to route your IP better or find out about the connection hold up between your IP and that on line 5 of the trace route that hits off Kansas is where the ping spike comes from.
