Next time use sm_statushist to see recent name changes. FireHazzard explains it quiet well here:

The thing that helped me with the hacker that I removed several hours ago was sm_statushist - shows you who recently changed their name and how long ago, along with their server uID (not the steamID or the uID found on their GameMe) that is found next to their name when you type status.

Example of what shows in sm_statushist

1. UID #30386 - 'NAME1' to 'NAME2' (13 sec ago)

After recording a quick demo, banned him with that same uID (since it was a blatant/obvious aimbot, and if you try banning via admin menu or via the name, easy to accidentally ban an innocent bystander )

sm_ban #30386 0 "Server Disruption"

This a very useful command for situations like this.

Yes, I would suggest not using admin menu or banning by player name, like Fire/Iron posted above, the #userid (Not Steam ID) when you type sm_statushist is the reliable and quick way to ban the player. Otherwise you could end up banning several players or even yourself.

IP post of Fires idea is great. I have statushist bound. So when you are playing, I press it every now and then and you can go to console to review if needed. If you are still unsure as you did not get a demo, then:

Have statsme web page in your favorites, then to avalanche. That way, it is easy to see the hacker as they have 50 kills and 2 deaths. I click on that person. You have all the information to post a ban request. You have the name, steam ID, steam U#, stats of kills/headshots which clearly shows the person is using a aimbot.

I usually do this first, as alot of the time, when they see an eGO go to spec for the demo, they leave.

You have to remember, VAC is like a police drug sting. They run the sting for a period of time (many many months or longer). Then steam institutes the bans in mass.

At least, that has been steam pass history on doing this sort of thing.

It is hard to ban the aimbotter using the in-game name because their name keeps changing.

Instead just go to: https://edgegamers.gameme.com/dods

The player with the ridiculous score, say 240 - 6, is obviously the one who is aimbotting. Click on their name. The eGO stats page will instantly list their Steam ID. This is how it is possible to locate and ban these people easily.

Hi miller019,
Yeah that was me chum, saw you or a player proned by the tank in axis spawn with your name firing a rocket and doing a really good job of killing the allied players, waited till you span around several times and shot other players then banned your ID.
Heard and saw how Lawn mower man was saying you was his cousin and was about to reply and saw 'Golden' doing the small thing.
I have asked Annil to look at this, but unfortunately it might take some time.

As Iron stated, the best way I know how is to use sm_statushist , grab the ID and ban that way. I know the admin menu is graphical and easy to use for some, even me at times as I don't remember every command, but It can easily lead to accidental kick/Ban. I use a printed sheet with all the commands sitting on my desk so I know for sure I am entering the right command to avoid accidental kick or ban of someone. The surge of hackers on DoD's sure has swelled due to the cheap price at Christmas. Hopefully it tapers off soon which it should. Between our server admins and then the VAC Ban wave that always comes through after a couple months, it should eliminate all the punks trying to get some cheap thrill.

I witnessed it a couple days ago....Spoon was Quick on the Draw and Caught it...I was Bedazzled for a min...just watching......
