It's been an integral part of our game. Sometimes the para spam is a bit much but it's already limited on Dust 2 and Italy isn't busy enough for it to be a problem for any sustained amount of time. I would also add that even in Italy para rushing apts or long has been one of the most iconic things in the server.

You can still para rush when para is limited to 1. But when Ts have 3 paras posted in apts, how are any CTs supposed to get through? Ts just strafe back and forth holding mouse1 even if they're flashed and CTs die in a hail of 300 bullets. Same goes for any other angle. Ts almost always have more wins than CTs because Italy is already a T-sided map, but when you hold an angle with multiple paras it exacerbates the imbalance. I do not struggle with killing para users but most other players do, and the only way they know how to counter it is by buying a para themselves. Then the game becomes a game of RNG where both players don't even stop to shoot, they just run in holding mouse1. How many times have you seen a T in house listen for footsteps, then come blasting around the corner, instantly headshotting whoever is there? The para takes no skill.

Why do you think the m249 is so much worse in CS:GO? Because Valve took a look at the para, knew it was way too overpowered, and balanced it. The running accuracy in CS:S is already way too high, and when you combine this with 100 bullets and 1 shot headshot you get an overpowered gun that needs to be banned or limited. My suggestion would be to remove para completely and allow 1 awp per team, because the awp actually takes skill to frag more than 1 player.

Its really because they added the negev.

I'm sure that factored into the nerf because the m249 is cheaper by $550 (?) in CSGO. I still believe the main reason the m249 is worse in CSGO than in CSS is that it was too strong in source. I would argue that the m249 is perfectly balanced in CSGO. Additionally, the negev is still significantly worse than the para in source in terms of accuracy and damage, and they're the same price. The bottom line is that the m249 is overpowered in source, at least in lower levels of playing (pubs), and needs to be limited in Italy.
