character skins HELP ME!

Can anyone help me with how to use a character skin I downloaded. There are examples for weapons around but I'm havin trouble finding one for character models. I know it has to do with the putting the skin in a certain folder, I have an idea how, but I can't get it to work. Any help would be appreciated
