Normally I like to play in closed quarters maps (like Arica Harbor and Oasis) in conquest mode, and sometimes I just love a good vehicle mess, what is you preferred game style ?

I'm still working on the HM map, the open fields, the entire area is such a great battleground. When I find that my squad has engineers in it my happy, happy, joy, joy level rises. I'm infantry. I ran through the Medic weapons, even fired a few shouldered rockets but found my love to be a gun tottin' grunt. Charging into B all alone, company's always welcome, sneaking into B, dying in B and moving forward to spot out ahead of B all while dropping ammo boxes, ah the life!

I think my PC and connection make a close in to a mid-range fight difficult for me so I'll prefer a more distant encounter though I''d hate to be called a sniper. There are so many soldiers that I never see yet in the "kill cam" they're right there and I should have seen them. I think the same issues make me a bad shot causing me to be best "Kill Assist" soldier on the field. Honest, in real life, I'm a good shot!

Im bad at all gamestyles so i prefer whatever one im playing best with at the given time

I love, love, love Heavy Metal. The map rewards teamwork more than any other, which in my opinion is what sets BC2 ahead of other FPS.

Lots of open ground.
Wide enough to sneak the flanks.
Vehicles galore.
Still enough buildings for some close quarters havoc.

I've found success in CQ to be very setting-related. Field of view, contrast, and just the right mouse settings to swing the gun around without going too far. I never found the balance.

Early on I played a lot of different maps and I liked most of them, except the winter setting (Nelson?) because I just couldn't see the enemy there, but I always seemed to gravitate to HM. When I first started I couldn't get the hang of the fast, aggressive characters so I mostly played recon; that probably had some influence on where I played. Once I got comfortable with the other player modes I still ended up there for the reasons you other guys have said...vehicles, space, good gameplay for all characters. It also helps that the community that plays on the eGO server is generally a good bunch of folks.

I pulled a tangent there, I think. ...I'm a compulsive spotter in any mode. Not only is it "team-y", but more often than not it exposes unseen enemies. I like to play all the modes except medic, and even then I'll spawn that way if I'm in a good squad..recon, 2 assault (or 1 grunt and an eng)...that's aggressive and in good position.
When I'm assault I drop ammo when I spawn on squadmates every time, and I drop boxes at strategic points. I'm aggressive and often a little suicidal, and I like to drive tanks and jeeps.
I'm a crappy shot as an engi. I use warhead in this mode so I like to be gunner or 3rd seat so we hit hard and I can repair at a moments notice.
I like my GOL. I'll usually go recon when nobody's spotting (In my opinion, lol) or when I'm dying too much. "That's it!! I'm gettin' my GOL!"

It's always about the flags. It's an old game so I don't care about stats anymore...except tags, I like tags. So - tags & flags!

It's nice to have goals. I keep tabs on my game play at gameme.com and it keeps me coming back to the game. I work on ribbon numbers for the weapons I use as Infantry, trying to bring them up a few levels at a time.

Currently I'm working on the M14, a weapon that's not in the official loadout but fits me it seems. Since it's not rapid fire I tend to keep a scope on it and (oh do I have to say it) snipe a bit, without camping, if that saves my reputation. It seems to suit me well but offers challenges. At close range I can't kill with it and it seems to do a good job of getting me killed in those situations. So, I've learned to respect my sidearm which at the moment is the M9 since it seems that as long as I actually take aim with it, I get good kills. No longer do I run with a long gun in my hand, but the M9, In the rocks, around buildings, in so many places, I'm moving with the M9 pointing the way and I'm loving it! The M14 makes me miss my 40mm. Once I started using smoke I got into it, now I run around feeling naked as I sprint over open ground. But I get C4, YEAHhhhhhe, the suicide weapon. I love it when it works, feel great when I plan ahead and THAT actually works! Using C$ raises the adrenaline level a bit and brings to mind thoughts of stupidity, dedication and oh, did I mention that I'm really glad that this game can't even be called a simulation of war 'cause the worst that happens is you go back to the uncap to regroup!

I'll be at the M14, M9, C4 gig for a while. It's my burden and then back to my main group of short barrels.
