I have already done the obvious and re-installed fresh, repaired, and restarted computer after each time. Basically, the Battle Log screen says I have to update my battle log to join a game (ostensibly to join through Chrome instead of Firefox like I have been). However, when I do the install and try to join, nothing works. OK, try it on Chrome...except it isn't supported on Chrome apparently....Catch 22. I can see people in game, I can change load out and everything. It only stops me from connecting to games in any way....

Any ideas?

Chrome update caused problems to plugins to run battle log. Using firefox or IE works most times. What I do after I get logged in through Firefox and in the server I close out the browser

OK, both Firefox and IE have the same issue when I try to join a game: "You need to download and install the latest browser plugin"....I have....repeatedly, and deleted and tried again....and it won't let me get past this pop up and into a game.

I believe you have to close your old battlelog when you download the new one. Seems that's what I had to do when I got that message.

Just to be clear on where you're at in troubleshooting this(I don't know if you already know this), the latest update informed me on my battlelog page that i would have to start the game through origin, and it brings up battlelog on chrome. i can join and play games just fine still using chrome, just an added annoying step to start the game through origin.

edit: oh wait, that update isn't out yet, is it. I shortcutted bf4.exe from my origin folder to the taskbar a long time ago. This method opens chrome for me without any problems. Just verified, both of these methods still work for me with the latest 64bit chrome version. just updated it. running windows 10 if that makes a difference for your troubleshooting.

Not certain if you fixed this yet or not. Apparently Firefox is no longer supporting the plugin type that Battlefield uses. So use Chrome, go to your profile>Settings>General and enable "Use plugin-free game launching". That was the solution I found yesterday when I tried playing BF4. The Firefox plugin will not even install.

Fixed by using Internet explorer...although I want my firefox back!

Just use IE for BF4,but make it your default for the damned game. Otherwise use FF for your browsing, yea it is a pain but best option ya got.........

Chrome doesn't allow NPAPI plug-ins.

Use IE for BF4.

Well... I guess now we don't have to since it's all ran through in game multibrowser support anyway. :P

For firefox try going to settings in battlelog. Next to where it says Game Launch tick Use plugin-free game launching. No need for the plugin. You do need to launch origin yourself to join games though.
