Right today i was on a near empty server i think 4 on each team, and i was only one on who was ego and didn't know what to do as (no admins online) so i thought i would post here thati found someone speed hacking cant type or remember name (random letters/numbers).So i just thought i would report it here just to warn people that some hackers have been on and may return. so just making sure evryone is aware and keep an eye out for them.

Next time this happens, go to your console, and type "status" and get their steam id, it would also be suggested to record a demo of them by going to spectator and watching them while you record it. Also, fill out a ban request in the "Request Ban" forums, and include that you have a demo of it in the additional information.

Ha! And Tanooki beats me to the punch :-)

Azzer, When there are no admins logged into the server you're playing on, you can always use the chatbox on the website here to notify someone of your need, and they'll help you out, pronto.

Additionally, check this thread out:

This is our Big Brothers/Sisters thread, and it contains other ways to contact other Admins that will be on Steam Friends. Make sure to add us to your Friends list, that will help a lot!

While you're waiting for an Admin to join the game, the best way to prove that someone is hacking is to go into spectator mode and view that player in first person, then record a demo showing that the player's hacking. Submit the demo along with the player's SteamID in our Request Ban forum and we'll do what needs to be done.

Ok here's a dumb question.... how can u tell if its a hack or not?? I'm totally green on the hack stuff. I have heard of aim bot way back with the first CS but that's it. Is there some 'irregularity' on the screen that's obvious??

Thanks

Speed Hacks are sometimes hard to tell between hacking and just bad lag... aimbots are quite easy to spot. When someone is using an aimbot, they usually play sniper and aim for the head, but not always... saw someone playing as an engie of all things with an aimbot once. Anytime a valid target comes into the players FOV, their cursor immediately snaps to the head and tracks it. usually the cursor will be really jumpy while locked on target. The only real way to know for sure is to go to spectator and view that player in the first person.

valve does eventually find about the hacks, it may just take a while.

there was a heavy that was hacking and i recorded a demo of it, he was aimbotting, of all things a heavy, lol. if any of you want the about 1 min demo of how to tell if they are hacking, PM me and i will send it to you ;)

Yeah, i caught a spy speedhacking once, the only way I knew it was hax and not lag was the fact that he only moved super jumpy fast when he cloaked.
