So somehow recently pancake syrup got into my mousepad (not a large amount as I have a really big mousepad), but still enough that its causing a certain area to stay sticky. Is there any kind of liquid spray or something that can help get the stickiness out of the mousepad? I dont mind turning it around for now, but would like to get that area cleaned up in the future for sure...

dish soap and warm water should do it.
This is what I do with my mouse mat. It works great! I have the Roccat Taito.

In all seriousness though, CrossCheck is spot on. I've got a SteelSeries gigantic mousepad and some soap and warm water will do it. Just try not to separate the surface part that your mouse glides on from the base.
