It's important to try to get people to CT and take Warden, but it's also important to make sure people don't feel nervous doing it because they're worried about getting trash talked instead of helped and encouraged. You can't expect people to be a good CT or Warden if they're never given the opportunity to learn or the constructive criticism needed to improve. Of course, there will always be people that refuse to learn and just are overall bad wardens / CTs.

tl;dr: Help people help you. If you guide people in the right direction as a CT or Warden it will make jail more fun for you and everyone else.

P.S. I'm not trying to plead innocent here. I've been guilty of the above, but I plan to change my mindset and I hope anyone reading this does so as well.

I agree, we should help players who are new to Jail and especially being Guard/Warden. Belittling people will do nothing but drive people out. I am also a culprit of doing this and will work on my actions/demeanor as well.

I don't want to be rude by saying this but every time I've seen the CS division get a new server it has flopped miserably. The minigames server lasted awhile and people loved to play every now and then but it was removed because leadership thought it wasn't played enough. Then they made LMS, which imo, was way too idealistic. The only time I saw people on was when admins were on and consistently advertising it to get other admins on. Jail and TTT bring in many new players and are fun for admins too. Jail might not be as active as last year but I guarantee most of us money spenders in the CS division would never want to see it removed. Thats why I don't care about rankings and all that what not. Sure rankings can show activity but the whole community shouldn't be constantly bombarded with FILLJAIL/get on jail/ JAIL!!! etc. We should just play it as we usually do when we want to. I also agree and disagree with Killroy's statement. Some people do fill servers when leadership ask just because they are trying to suck up, but not everyone does that and you can't exactly prove it all the time.

I can see where you are coming from, but by your ideology you are more or less saying no one likes the Jail server since no one is on. I can give it possibly to the fact that it is nearing Finals time for college student and is during school, but to have the server sitting empty as it is now? That just seems like a bit far fetched. I loved Jail just as much as you do now, but the way it is performing now is not helping anyone. When people spam "FILL JAIL!" or "Come Fill Jail", they are not doing it for the rankings. They are doing it because they love the game mode and want someone to actually play with them.

The only reason why people keep saying, "JOIN JAIL!" or "FILL JAIL!" is because they want to get people on jail and have fun. They don't want to see the jail server get taken down. They want to see the jail server rankings get better. Sure, sometimes Jail does get filled and we have a great time. Let's do that more often. Let's hop on teamspeak, join jail, invite our friends and have a great time! I've had some great memories when playing Jail and I'm sure you have too. Let's make some more memories.

I can't speak for the way that another Leadership team ran the servers or the division, but I can say that we are on the right track here. Jail has seen massive improvements since the new leaders took over and TTT has been rocketing lately. I wasn't here for servers flopping but it seems like the community didn't rally behind them to make them a success.

Let's think about it this way.

Let's say you subscribe to a service that's $69.99 every month. Something like your cable subscription. With that, you never watch cable or you never use the service. Would you continue to pay for that service or would you rather take that $70 and spend it on something that you need and is more necessary. Most would say I don't use it I'm not going to pay for it. The same thing applies here. Basically if the server and the resources it runs is not being used, those are resources we could allocate towards something else. At the end of the day we are a global community supporting hundreds and thousands of gamers.

This is all extremely tough to understand and have to worry about. Luckily you are all admins and players where you get to just join the servers and have fun. The community managers have to pay the bills and figure out how we are going to pay he bills.

Well I can't really put my $.02 in on Jail because I don't really ever play... I can say that I joined eGO 6 years ago because of dust and dust2. I only really like playing the standard format servers. That's why you'll only really ever find me in Italy, but lately it's been a ghost town. Out of all my years here... HS was by far the most fun I had playing. If it's brought back... chances are it'll do well for awhile, and then dwindle like it did last time. It hurts me to say that because I want nothing more than to see it's return.

Perhaps it's time to try something we never have tried. A rotation server. With all the maps, except D2 because you don't want to compete with yourself. I'm not saying that will solve the problem, but it's worth a shot.

And another question... why don't we have a standard format CS:GO server? And this is just a personal opinion, but to me, it seems we are trying to survive on gimmick servers. I understand it's what sets us apart, but we don't have one server you can jump on and go round to round like the game was meant to be played.
