Better audio recorder

Hey all, I need some help. So I have been using Audacity for over 3 years to record a radio show, but as some of you know, Audacity is known to have its issues. Recently with my current job, I got a pay raise, so this will allow me to be able to afford some short of audio program that is really legit & wont cause me to lose any audio that I record.

I am definitely open to all suggestion, but please lets not go overboard on the price (max is $40). Im sure I can find something between the $10-20 range.

I know a lot of radio guys that use Adobe Audition. However it is a monthly subscription of about $20. I'm sure a few others could chime in a cheaper alternative.

What sort of issues are you running into? Just general crashing? How long are these recordings?

I think it also depends a bit on what you are planning to do with this audio. Some might give you slightly better quality among other various, although probably minute, differences. I'm not as knowledgeable on audio recording software, but at least with graphic design or video editing software it's all about what you want to do with it.
