Tech Help Help with my new laptop

Bought a new laptop about a month ago. Since then I have not been able to play comp because of lag. I get ping spikes. I will start off great around 13-40. Then all the sudden it will jump to 100 - 400. The computer is much better than my last but I am having issues that I didnt have with my old laptop.

Processor: AMD A10-9600P Radeon R5, 10 compute cores 4c +6G 2.40 GHz
RAM: 8.00 GB (7.47 GB usable)
System type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Not sure if this can help. But if there is something I could do to help that would be awesome. I do not lag when I play on our TTT server on CS:GO or on Jail even when they are full. I lag sometimes on our event server as well but I havent connected anything to that.

Any advice is welcome! Thank you!

I'm not very tech savvy, but having a laptop myself, I have figured out a little trick. Do you have your charger plugged in while playing? If no, plug it in and keep it plugged in the entire time you play. This method is all I need and I get stable, high frames.

Always play with your charger plugged in. Try to play with a hard wire ethernet connection and not Wi-Fi. Set your PC to prefer maximum performance in its graphical/power settings. Only things I can suggest right now! Let me know if that helps!

New laptop. They love to load tons of applications that auto load. You need to clean out the start menu and stop all auto booting applications.

As BearKiller said, a new laptop can have a lot of pre-installed apps, so im gonna explain how to disable them:

Windows 7:
Press "Windows key" + "R key" to open the RUN menu, and then just type "MSCONFIG" in it, go to the tab "STARTUP" and disable all of those apps that you don't need.

Windows 10:
Go to the windows start menu and search for "TASK MANAGER" when you open it go to the "STARTUP" tab and disable all of those apps that you don't need.

You can also use the "TASK MANAGER" to see what apps are using the most of your cpu and ram.

Hyper as far as freezing there isn't really any freezing. Just jump when in game. Random lag spikes with no real reason behind it.

Doesn't have a lot of things that work off start up. The few things it does have starting up I have disabled.

Check temperatures when the lag spikes start. You can download HWMonitor free version from a Google search.

Visit www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri to see if your laptop meets the required specs.

Change your power options around. You might need to adjust some settings in the Advanced area.
