Some of you know me, some of you don't. I guess that's why I am here...... so the ones that don't can get an idea of who I am.
I was inspired by H Honorstar to write this because we have a similar start to the online gaming world. I too, started online gaming with America's Army back in 2003. But at a much later age than her.
99% of the awesome members of EGO that i have encountered on Teamspeak and in game, don't know that my name is Jamie.
Here is probably too much info about myself, but want you all to have an idea of who i am.
I was born in 1971 (now i am totally implying on how old i am) in Southern California to the most awesome parents. No brothers or sisters. Just a spoiled only child.
In 1997 i decided to follow my parents to Utah 3 years after they transplanted here and has been my home ever since.
2 weeks after moving to Utah I met my amazing wife of 19 years Dany (Danyelle) in a Utah chat room...and yes...they had chat rooms back then.
I have 4 amazing kids Zoey, Cydne (pron. Sydney), Kai and Jay. I do still miss those California sunsets, surfing and the beach.
I am a huge Hockey fan ( as you couldn't tell by my user and in-game name) and am a die hard Los Angeles Kings fan.
Besides hockey and my addiction to gaming. I love to cook, in fact i do all the cooking in my home because i love creating amazing food for my family.
I am a former journeyman meat cutter and am currently an Assistant produce department manager at one of the most amazing grocery stores and companies to work for i have ever encountered
I also love cycling, but not your typical Lance Armstrong type of Cycling. I ride a 26" SE Racing OM Flyer BMX cruiser and i am into riding at skateparks with my 2 sons
Video games have always been apart of my life, Starting with the Atari 2600....Yes i am that old!!! Back in 1980, my parents bought me this wonderful piece of gaming history for christmas..They never knew what they were starting
Moved on to the NES and then the Sega Genesis. Where i got the most amazing game...EA's NHL 94' and have been hooked on that franchise ever since.
When going to school to get my Microsoft certified systems engineer cert (and my career is not anywhere close to that field), As a fun project my instructors decided to install and have us play America's Army together. Little did they know they created a monster. Been playing FPS shooters and other online games ever since.
I have been a member of 4 different gaming communities including one i founded and ran for 2 years.
In 2011 while Floating around the gaming universe, clan-less and looking for a new home, i came across an awesome CoD4 server that caught my eye. It had =(eGO)= EdgeGamers in the server name and decided to join in a game. Don't think i had ever encountered such a welcoming group of players and admins since the days of the America's Army clan and server i was running. They were doing what i tried to accomplish with my community i started several years before. I suddenly found my new home and have never looked back.
In the 6 years of being in EGO, i have been in the CoD division (rip), Battlefield and the Minecraft division
The Minecraft division has been my home for the past 4 years. I blame my kids for introducing me to this addicting, but yet relaxing and amazingly fun game.
As to my knowledge i am the oldest member of the MC division. during my time in this awesome division, I have seen 2 of our former and elder members leave this wonderful world (R.I.P Gremlin and CrazyWacko).
I created our First and only Fishing tournament thanks to the encouragment of Artimus, Dr. H@ckf3$t(miss having you around) and
Jade
. Shortly after the tourney, Jade was the one who convinced me to become an EC
I was an EC for almost 2 years and i started Saturday Night Fight Club (shh we're not supposed to talk about it). I never took the time to thank FirezFury, Jade and idk_lobsters till now for giving me the opportunity to improve our events by adding new plugins that i wanted to made that event night so much fun..I guess its never too late
Life and work got in the way and had to step down from my EC duties. I even took a 5 month vacation from Minecraft
Over the past several months, if you have visited the MC divisional forums. You have seen me return to being my usually involved, and opinionated self.
The MC division and server is my home. I want to see it grow and return to being the place all members of EGO who play Minecraft want to play on.
Sorry for boring you all and thanks for reading.
