Quick question for anyone who may be so inclined..

My PC is starting to randomly shut off (as if the power went out, not as if it was shutting down properly). I am able to turn it back on immediately after with no issues. It happens a couple times a day lately.

Anyone know if this is just a bad power supply? If not, anyone know what else could be the issue?

Thanks so much,
SD

Hi Silent_Death,

Yes it could be the power supply but as well the motherboard. First make sure the Inside of the PC is dusted out there should be no dust inside the power supply or on the CPU. Here is a helping vid just incase https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8eBAMb66k4
If it doesn't fix the problem I would start checking to see if the power supply overheats and if the fans are spinning in it when you turn it on.

Okay, thank you. I just did a clean install of Windows about a week ago (it was doing it before that too) and I cleaned my computer out real well then. I will double check the power supply specifically. Thanks for your help!

Hey Silent_Death Silent_Death ,

Are you still having this issue?

you could also go into the BIOS settings at boot time and check the Event log to see if there are any warning messages
