Suggestion: Temp. EGO Achievement Server

Just as the title suggests, a temporary server that is password protected that will allow everyone to get the new achievements, as someone who barely has enough time to play anyways, I feel the achievements are more of a long grind to achieve, I quit WoW for a reason.

I know some of you will hate me for this idea, I just thought it was a good one.
 
Another idea that has been floating around was installing a mod that would limit the number of people that could play as any given class on a particular server.

It was quite a popular idea, among the four of us not playing medic. On a team of sixteen.

*sigh* Things will hopefully get back to normal in a week or so when the hype wears of a bit. Until then, patience. I guess that really is our only option.
 
I had mentioned this idea to Pink Panther, as I thought it would be cool.

But since they got easier I'm not sure whether it's worth it. Most of them shouldn't be too much of a problem.
 
I think you guys should try to win them by playing the fricking game.. you get no pleasure from cheating and if you dont usally play medic, why is it so important to get them right now? I think you all need to grow up

It's going to become even more hectic with the TF2 free weekend coming up... But after that things should slow down.

I actually DO play Medic, it's the only class I can play well and I enjoy healing people.
 
If this achievement server goes up, I'm quitting eGO. I saw enough clan members using the unlock cheat this week to make me sick.
 
I did some grinding on convoy last night and actually had some fun doing it with our clan members. I don't think I'm going to be grinding anymore though... I've tried all the weapons, and the novelty has worn off a bit. Back to pyro.
 
I wouldn't necessarily call it cheating vs. taking the easy way out. Typing in the unlock command is definitely cheating. At least this way you actually have to DO the work.
 
Here's my beef:

Yes, it is found by people as unfair to try to get the achievements by assistance, but the reason why people are trying to get the achievements on such levels is because they want the weapons. If the weapons were available beforehand, we wouldn't see 10,000 medics running around. They want the weapons, and they can care less about the achievements.

The code should have never been accessible to anyone and they should have fixed it before the release, but failed to do so, and those who did put in the code at some point (such as myself), have had them depleted and are starting anew.

Of course, we can only hope Valve learned from this. No one should be punished for the code, as it is truly their own fault for leaving it, and what they did to fix it was right. They removed the achievements so they can start again, I think.
 
Guys dont get me wrong, I have no problem if players want to go medic to try to earn some achievements, but 5 or 6 of them in a circle in the spawn while players need them or just run bya player that needs assistance because they are after an award, thats just wrong on so many levels and its this I have a problem with. I think they should have just let the command there for the players that had no skill or no sense of sporting chance, so we can get back to normal quicker.
 
One irritating thing about the newfound medic players is that they're not good at playing medic; I mean, they don't really try to play medic, they're trying to get their acheivements, which unfortunetly isn't the same as trying to play the game. I'd love it if all these people were really interested in learning to play as medic but when half of your team is medic and you can't get healed because all the medics are trying to bonesaw each other... %-6 ...geez, OMG i am already terrified of when they release the spy upgrades :O
 
Mental, I think what you say is just complete ignorance. The fact that people want NEW weapons isn't a bad thing, command, grinding or just letting it play out. If you want to take the "high road" and let it play out than fine. But do not call the people that want those weapons, and are willing to cheat or grind for em, no skill or not sporting players.

Get off your high horse, this is Valve's fault as a company to bringing RPG elements into an FPS game, AN ALREADY ESTABLISHED FPS game. Don't criticize those players that feel the same way I do. Valve changed the rules on us.

I think it would of been better to make the achievements 5-10-15 for the weapons and the rest for fun. Because as of now, having those 8 medics in spawn doing nothing, or medics going around acting like idiots, ruins the fun. And thats not what the game is meant for.
 
I agree with mental...People just want to get the achievements to get new weapons. The saddest thing IMO is those players will go back to play their normal classes and will probably just forget about medic. Since I started playing tf2 I have never seen more than 3 medics on one team, mostly its 1-2 medics who enjoy playing that class. Right now if it were allowed there would be 5-6 per team who are just trying to get the achievements....

The only thing I am happy is that my favorite class is sniper and spy so dont need mediics, i just try to kill them.

We are getting off-topic here. This thread is about an EGO ACHIEVEMENT SERVER, not a rant on the people who are going for medic achievements... We need to stick to the point.

Anyway, I find it to be a good idea, except that i already grinded on a non-EGO server with 6 other people and have 18 achievements unlocked.
