I had a small chat with mental bugga who told me I didn't even play medic before. She was right and there is a reason for that: I su** at it. I get killed, I miss uber... Heck, I even changed from uber to bonesaw in a crowded place full of ennemies (was dead before the saw was out, same for the demoman that was with me (may he rests in pieces)). I AM AWFUL. But, I'm doing it for the achievements.

Don't get me wrong. I do like the fact that we can get new weapons, and I'll probably do it for the weapons when the sniper's achievements will come out. However, for the medic and most of the classes I don't play a lot, I do it for the achievements. When I started to play, the 17 or so achievements that were implemented in the game were easy, unuseful and kinda boring to get.

Now, I have a goal. I have a challenge. I have to be better than ever to get there. That's why I dislike people cheating or farming to get the achievements. Where's the challenge? Where's the goal? Where's the pride? All achievements I have are legit and some needed lots of effort to get. (I thank jehuty for lots of them)

So, no, I ain't any use as a medic. But I'll be better. I'll learn and fight for my skills like I did when I started. I'll never be as good as you, Captain Mental, neither as good as Bat-Bear to get the crit bonesaw out. However, I'll feel proud when I'll get the last achievement, and that's what I like about them. And most of all, lots of ennemies are gonna get pwned in the making of this. Isn't it all that matters in the end?

... And yes... I'll do... the demoman's ones... Please don't judge me :'(

Firethem, thats fine I have no problem with that, I play medic when we need one, I am no where near as good as Captain or Bat bear but if the team needs another I will gladly go, but thats not the problem. I know people want the new weapons and this I can understand, but I personally dont like the way they are getting them. Its killing game play to have all the medics farming, go somewhere else and farm them, then come back when its out of your system, or go to a dedicated medic server, I am sure there are going to be more of them. If you dont want a sense of achievement thats up to you, but if and when I get to play medic, I will be earning mine.

I am sure on a plus note that somewhere along the line, players that dont usually play medic might find out that they actually like the class, so you never know, we might end up finding another few good medics among them.

I will play any class thats needed in the team, while some of them I am really not good at I will still have a go, but I am always a team player... are you?

Medic was the first class I played, and still what I go for first. Lots of points for little effort, and there's just something about killing the enemy with a bonesaw... I'm not so sure we'll get that many more good medics out of the deal, but I may be wrong. Regardless, this isn't going to change how I play. If there's enough medics already (I usually won't be the 4th), I'll go pyro or demo.

My name is JohnnyOnTheSpot. Sometimes I die on the spot, but other times I'll save you as you're about to fall. I go medic when there used to be no one who wanted to do it. I started as medic b/c it was the only class I was good at and realized that the medic is the most valuable player on the team. I learned from Captain Mental how to be a good fearless medic and I've refined my skills trying to be the best medic possible...still not there but you can't knock me for trying. The achievements will be achieved...over time, I'm not trying real hard RIGHT now to get them, b/c I know I play medic so much that I'll get them all eventually. I don't play this game for those, I play for all of you. I play medic b/c it's the easiest way I can give back to all of you who give me so much by playing the game with me, I play medic b/c it's the class that no one wanted to play before this update and b/c in my eyes it's the most fun. Have you ever ubered to the middle of warpath, lose your partner, fall into the pit and have to bonesaw/syringe gun your way back out? Probably not b/c most of you never play(ed) medic enough to have near-death experiences. The medic class is great, but I know most of you just want the weapons/achievements but you're killing me here, bad medics=a quickly dying team. So if you love medic like us, get better quickly we need your help. If you don't like medic, then why do you care about achievements/weapons.

I love being a medic, because you need me and I need you and that's the whole point of TEAM Fortress.

My primary classes for play have always been Sniper/Medic/Soldier and in that order. Occasionally I like to play scout. I hate playing the other classes. Unfortunately it being a team game I've found that My team benefits more with me as sniper/soldier or engy rather than medic.
I dont want the achievements, I just want the guns. If i could flip a switch or type in a command and get the guns and have the achievements left vacant or even say "Cheated to Get em", I'd still be happy as pie.

I'm disgusted to have to farm achievements that I don't want just to get the tools to assist with being more effective in helping the team.

I have always loved playing medic, i really dont know why. I dont really mind all of the other people playing medic, but when i see more than like 5 medics on one team who just stand around and do not uber when they should because they are trying to get the simultanious uber achivement thing, it really makes me mad. If i get the achievements cool if not oh well i can live with the standard medic weps. I have needed to vent since the update came out so thanks for listening

POWER GLOVES of the world unite!

I truly enjoy being a medic. i'm not that great at killing people, so i help others kill people! i have been playing alot of pyro and heavy the past few days, but once the rush is over, i'll be back to ubering iadien, corax, buga and nutz and the other regulars i play with. medic is my favorite, and best, class, and i agree that without good medics around, you have a hard time winning-especially on warpath!

I enjoy playing as a medic very much, engineer is still my favorite class but medic is soon becoming my second favorite, the new weapons are what did it for me, medic was already my second best class with 26 points in a life (engineer being 42) you wont find this because I farmed, I wanted the weapons and didn't want to wait for them (I didn't farm on any eGO server) now that I have the critzkrieg I can wait for my ubersaw, it is only a matter of time now that I like medic that I get that slice of heaven. I just want to say that I am a good medic and I know I will do everything to help my team and get the last achievments by chance.

I like medic because I like having someone else plow through while I sit back in heal. When I first started playing it was the first character I used. Then I started to use engineer on defense and stuff. With or without the new achievements I will always be a medic at heart.

i agree with thor, once the newness goes away everyone will just be talking about their own favorite classes. and i've had the honor of most of you medics saving my spying butt on warpath to many times to count (thanks captain/ karma XD). i personally don't mind the medics, as long as their not just standing in a corner AFK just trying to get 10,000 in 1 live, thats ridiculus. it'll all go away in a while, or we can only hope =D.

I'm a pretty normal medic so its a cool class,favorite for me is a heavy,but after the updates... playing as a medic is just boring.. if the team has about 2 medics.. then its hard and awesome but if the team has 1 heavy and 15 medics who dont even heal you xD its not that fun

Personally, i like being Medic. It was the first class I played when I picked up TF2. I never played TFC. I played Medic a lot until I got tired of not fighting against everyone. Yes, I know you can still fight as a medic, but in my opinion, it's stupid to see a medic run out by itself trying to get off a bonesaw kill while half the team needs him for health.

Captain Mental, you make great points for your love for the medic class, and for good reason. I personally can't commit to one class. I play Engineer, Pyro, Spy, Demoman more than any class, but I'll try to mix it up now and then. I've started to get to the point where I just play a class in which we just tdon't hav on the team that can help.

It's not too hard to get, although I don't have it yet I had 9200 heal points in one life before the update went in. Unfortunately I haven't been able to equal that in a long time. I had that awesome medic round pre-dustbowl changes when it was ultra easy to defend the first point. I'd never go afk to try to get that achievement cause thats stupid.

I wish I could go back to playing my favourite class, I'll always be a medic at heart. I'm not even too worried about the achievements. I'll get em eventually, I'm close to my 1million heals too. But having 15 medics every round is getting pretty stupid.

I'm tired of dying as a pyro.
