Most times I wonder how it would be to live that kind of life. I use to hand out food if I had some on me to homeless around here in Austin. But that ended when I gave a sandwich to a homeless guy and he threw it back at my car and then proceeded to yell profanities at me. Fun day, I almost pulled my CZ on him when he started to approach my driver's side window again.

Nothing. If they are homeless and not interested in stop being homeless, there is nothing I can/want to do about it.

The only thing I will say is that I have been involved with the homeless throughout my life and I thank the Lord I have what I have. When you see the unfortunate realize one thing please: You don't know the story behind the soul of that person.

I try to move on. But when you're in the nice part of town parked at Best Buy and come outside after shopping to like 6 homeless dudes sitting around your car begging for money (they see a $115k car, they sit around and wait) it starts getting irritating. So sometimes I'll growl and bark at them.

It's sad they're in that position (many choose to be, many didn't choose at all) but there's nothing financially I can, will, and want to do to help aside from donating to charities directly.

I dislike this poll greatly; who are we to judge someone we do not know who is living on the street. We do not know their story, we do not know what they have experienced. "Growl at them", "smirk and point" really? This is tasteless. Not the kind of threads I come on here for.

I agree with Simon. However, I donate to charities that work with the homeless. There are some who are not truly homeless and try and make money acting like they are homeless. These charities help filter out these people. Don't do any of the poll suggestions, call one such charity so they can help the person if they are truly homeless.

I see your point Simon, but I really see this as a sarcastic just messing around poll. Whats the difference of comical opinions here vs someone playing GTA and beating a homeless person down with a bat or any other weapon? Just saying...

I might be a little biased considering more than half the homeless population in Austin are fakes that are homeless for their "job".

Some charities are legit, but I will never waste my time with one again considering organizations like the Red Cross (yes I know this is not a homeless charity just using as an example) have scandals going on the last couple of years. I prefer to make meals and literally driving around town and delivering them.
