To my understanding they do prepare, they just dont want to spend all budget on sustaining the servers knowing that the pikes happen at particular hours and days.

Considering how unstable Steam can be sometimes, you would figure they would do it. They go through this multiple times a year and make enough to upgrade the servers running the store but hey.

If you haven't, you probably should. It's dirt cheap right now. Come visit eGO's oldest server and the origins of the community. Probably will get hooked and not stop playing but it's part of the cursed fun.

It's $2.19 and will run on a potato. Just buy it.

I really really recommend picking up Squad its $20. Since Last Friday I've logged 43 hours as of this post.

Picked up planet coaster for $30, excellent game would definitely recommend to anybody who's played and enjoyed any roller coaster tycoons in the past. Also picked up CoD: World At War for zombies but so far the people I planned on playing with haven't actually wanted to yet so I'm probably going to return.

Both of the new Wolfensteins are on sale as well as the Metro Redux series, excellent games that everybody should play. Also, if you're into RTS pick up Supreme Commander and the Forged Alliance ex pack, awesome game. Don't buy Supreme Commander 2 it's not really that great.
