Hello, ever since the new forums opened I have had a heck of a time with the
auto-logoff.... I go to type a message, and 9.5/10 the forum logs me out
and then I have to login again. When I visit the forums, on average, I have to
login about 3-4 times at least. At some point..... just entering my password in
so many times..... is a threat to security.

I think the auto-logoff should be much longer.... even my workplace, which has
much more to lose financially does not have such a short auto-logoff time for
sensitive information.

I've never seen other forums on the internet have such a quick logoff either.

think it'd be really nice to change this.

Thank you.

I clear my browser history so often, that would never work for me.

Just a good computing habit to clear your history of all cookies and such.

I haven't re-logged into the forums for ages. I would suggest using a program like SandboxIE, and keeping your core browser cookies in place, and just delete the sandbox every once in a while. I would REALLY recommend you checking out that program. Nothing can escape the sandboxed environment.

*mumbles something about penguins* lol

can't we just change the forum settings? Even with 'Remember Me' turned off, it shouldn't be logging out 'this' quick.

The "auto logoff" you are taking about is the PHP session time for all PHP applications which is 24 minuets. So if you chooses not to use cookies (i.e. the remember-me button) you will be logged out within 24 minuets of no activity.
