In this past week, I often get very high ping (200-600) in every server regardless of its regional location. Before I connect to any server, I always checked the server browser for Team Fortress 2, Day of Defeat: Source, and other multiplayer games. All of the servers in show up with 200-600 latency. I regularly play on eGO TF2 servers (normally less than 100 latency to me) I should get between 30 and 70 ping. However, I keep experiencing frequent lag this past week.
I tried:
-restarting the router/modem thing.
-running a virus scan, which turns up nothing.
-telling my internet service provider to reset my home's internet connection.
*I also don't download anything when I play, and no one in my home was using a torrent.
*For some reason, when I play a non-Steam game like RuneScape, a MMORPG, I don't get any lag.
*My home has AT&T DSL.
Right now, I'm pretty stumped. I hope I provided enough information, although my techie cousin wasn't able to help me.
