Video Ads In MOTD

Unless something changed recently, we don't tolerate video/audio ads. If you see them again try getting the link and/or screenshot of the ad.

Reminds me of when they had ads that spammed console and crashed your game after a few minutes. As always, disable them after understanding it gets rid of your potential ad revenue. Not that ads should interrupt your ability to play the game and have fun.

You would have to toss a post in the dropbox for upper leadership to see it. I've totally disabled MOTDs though cause of it.

I've had pubs complain about it on Csgo. I've had motds disabled since way back in the day when ads would crash your game by spamming error messages in console.

Happens in csgo all the time when you're just playing TTT and ad starts playing out of no where.

im still to see any adds at all in the MOTD but my game crashes all the time anyway, Still waiting on the funds to build my computer and the surface doesnt like games :laugh:

For a while, I was trying to figure out why I was hearing strange 1 minute audio clips about random stuff.. I would alt tab out, check my browsers, spotify, everything... nothing playing... then I figured out it was coming in game and would play for upwards of 60 seconds in the background. So annoying....

Now that I stopped playing the game, I can reveal how I solved the problem. :closedeyes:
After you have joined a team, press your Windows Key or/and press Ctrl+Alt+Del, find a process called "Steam Client WebHelper" or "steamwebhelper.exe" in the Task Manager and kill that process. Problem gone :cool_old:
Typically, it is easy to find as it uses a lot of CPU or memory.

I had some Playstation ad play while in game, at least 3 times last night. Once when I joined Ava, once when I joined Kalt, and once in the middle of game play. It's becoming more of a common occurrence now.

An easier way to do this is typing !rules in chat or typing motd in console. All you need to do is reload the motd and the add will go away.

I've gotten reports that contained the url in the past. I do not know how the url was aquired. Perhaps someone else can chime in.
