Ah Zombieland Saga. I didn't realize I needed a show like this until it actually starting airing. Definitely one of the more enjoyable shows this season. Although, the real hidden gem this season is SSSS.Gridman. Even if mecha shows aren't your thing, I think it's worth giving it a try at least.

Anywho, Simon, I only have a couple episodes left of B: The Beginning and I've been pretty pleased with it as a whole. It sort of reminds me of Monster (if you've seen it) a bit, with a little bit of sci-fi mixed it.

I'd like to watch Gridman actually - I finally saw a few clips and I'm intrigued! I seem to pick up on a good mecha every few years, maybe this will be the new one.

So where am I with watching right now..

Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai has caught my attention (a tad late to the game). I'm a few episodes in and it's intriguing.

I picked up Hibike! Euphonium for some fun, I seem to be able to get into music shows easily.

I dropped SAO Alicization. While it was going well for me, the most recent episode killed the series for me since it's a plot device that has been recycled in every SAO season - and quite frankly makes me concerned for the writers mental health. Great up until then for me, but just not to my taste.

Finally decided after 7 years I would finish the final season of Bleach. Yes, took me that long to pick it up and finish. If you've made it 340 episodes, whats another 20?

Simon Read the books for Alicization. It's more enjoyable than the anime honestly. And it goes into better detail and nuance about what's going on than the anime has time to explain fully.

I've been enjoying Bunny Senpai a lot. Actually, my girlfriend and I have a routine now where when a new plot begins, we try to guess what's the cause, and how it will be resolved. I made a guess what would happen for the last few episodes so we will see if I am right about it or not the following week.

I'm kind of interested in watching one of the FATE series. However, I tend to watch (aside from Gundam and Eva anyway) more happy ending style shows (Angel Beats doesn't count!!!! It does have a happy ending...sorta....kinda).

With the "happy ending" sort in mind, are any of the FATE series stand alone and happy enough that I could watch and enjoy?

MacArther If that is what you're looking for, then I would recommend Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Bladeworks (by ufotable, duh) or Fate/Apocrypha. Fate/Zero also has a trainwreck of an ending that slowly turns warmhearted. Overall you should check out Fate/Stay Night: UBW, because it was one my favorites, and is still my favorite out of all the Fate anime. Also, it has one of the best openings I've seen! "BRAAAAAAAAAVE SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINE"

edit: also if you couldn't tell, I am a big fan of Fate lmao

What do you consider to be "happy endings"? Because the Fate series might not be what you're looking for. Are you talking about Tsuki ga Kirei happy endings or Ookami Kodomo: Ame to Yuki happy endings? Both are totally different.

I'm talking shows that aren't an Angel Beats "happy" where it ends on a happy note....but yeah (although I could handle it if need be, and have towels nearby for errant eye leaks). On the other end of the "happy" spectrum, not shows like the ending to Zeta Gundam (2nd bad guy wins, main ship severely damaged, main pilot comatose, 2nd pilot MIA, the only happy thing is the primary bad guy is dead).

I think I get it. You're talking more the Cowboy Bebop kind of happy. Here are a few that might be up your alley:

• Space Dandy
• Samurai Champloo
• Planetes (kind of dramaish but not as much as angel beats)
• Megalo Box (50th anniversary of Ashita no Joe project)
• Nichijou
• Barakamon

I also haven't seen it despite having it on my plan to watch list for quiet some time, but I've heard some good things about the film Redline.

In regards to the fate series, those are a bit different than what you seem to be looking for. The only fate related series that would be good is Carnival Phantasm. The downside is that Carnival Phantasm is a paraody series of the fate series, so watching it without knowing anything of the lore/characters would be a bit silly. I guess it comes down to do you want to watch 20+ episodes from an ending that is somewhat happy, or have a more continuous upbeat atmosphere in the show.

Alright, finished off the ReLIFE OVA (finally - took the girlfriend and I a while to get to it) and also blasted through Hibike! Euphonium. I think I liked it a lot because I was a band kid in high school myself - and we had a LOT of battles in there!

Most seasonal shows are wrapping up soon - whats on the radar for next season everyone? Would love to know what's looking good to actually plan to watch

Haven't looked into next season too much, but Mob Psycho 100 season 2 and Kakegurui season two I'll most definitely be watching. Otherwise all that wasted time on both the first seasons and live actions (which were surprisingly well made) will be all for nothing! A new Boogiepop is coming out (seems to be a straight remake so not related to the one several years back) so that could be fun. There's Yakusoku no Neverland, Domestic na Kanojo, and Kaguya-sasma wa Kokurasetai which are all manga I've followed from chapter 1, or very close to it. Kaguya-sama should be a pretty easy/simple adaptation. Neverland will probably be a huge bust if it's only 12 episodes as the first arc is nearly 40 chapters long. I'm just afraid they'll skip over a lot of details that were actually incredibly important, but aren't revealed until the end of the first arc/beginning of the second. It's more of a pacing thing really. Domestic na Kanojo could really go either way I think. Several good points to wrap things up without really losing too much on story.

Anywho outside of those, nothing really caught my eye initially except for a few movies (Made in Abyss and Code Geass mainly). Will give everything a proper read and watch the trailers as things get closer.

Just saw that the author of ReLIFE has a new web series that started up called Blue Hearts. Only a handful of chapters out right now, so that might be worth checking out.

Now that the final episode rolled out yesterday, I started watching - I'm 5 episodes in and holy!! I was a tad skeptical right off the bat because I saw the words "Studio Trigger" and "Mecha" on the same page, since we went down that road once this year already. But WOW! Loving it so far and it's overall excellent. I do get a slight power-rangers vibe off it haha, but I think it's great. Hopefully the rest of the series lives up to the first half-ish I've watched so far!

I am seeing a lot of mixed reviews (without spoilers, mostly scores) so far, but I'm still intrigued enough.

I blew through SSSS.GRIDMAN in record time (for me). I'm not entirely sure I love the ending but, this is very redeeming after what Darling in the Franxx became!! Maybe Mecha is on the comeback . Overall I felt it was a good series.

Voices of a Distant Star was tonights quick short film. I think it's a bit of a hidden gem! I like the art a lot as well as a solid story.
