Anime What are you currently watching?

Simon Simon If you like the Quintessential Quintuplets you'll probably enjoy Bokutachi wa Benkyou ga Dekinai as well. Kind of a similar feel. Beck has also been on my plan to watch list for years now. Let me know how it is!

All done Beck! It was interesting. There were some great tunes in it actually. I felt the art/animation were a bit dated looking (by 2004 standards), and there were some odd choices of direction at times. As a whole package though, it's enjoyable, a little more "real" I felt (People talked like they would talk, felt less "proper" in a way), and if music shows intrigue you, definitely give it a shot. I like some of the character relationships that grew in it as well.

One part that is a MUST DO and it's something I rarely say, but this has to be watched as a dub. The dub has good VA's and is done well. Watching it in Japanese is hard because it's a band trying to make it in japan and america - so lots of mixed english, english singing by japanese VA's, etc. Found it a lot more enjoyable dubbed.

Currently I've been trying to finish Hunter x Hunter (2011) and Dragon Ball Z while waiting for the final JoJo part 5 episodes to come out.

I aswell have been trying to catch up on Hunter x Hunter, I am currently on episode 116 and loving the fighting in this arc (although I do feel it took a while), and Dragon Ball Z is also great to watch, just a classic anime that everyone can enjoy. Other then watching HxH I have been trying to watch some new shows such as Dr. Stone which is alright but definitely not the greatest anime I've seen, the show definitely has potential to be good but the main character kind of gets on my nerves with his acts. Other then that I've just been watching Black Clover which I can gladly say that I have completely fell in love with, it's such an amazing show that everyone should be watching if they aren't already. between the main character, the amazing writing (shoutout Yūki Tabata) it's just an overall show that I love sooo much, there's not much more I can say about black clover.

Is there any good anime this summer season? I've been backlogged trying to catch up with my other shows so im wondering if I should invest any time into this season.

Depends on what you like and what your criteria for "good" is. I'll leave a few of the highlights/popular shows so far this season and you can check them out to see if they are to your liking.
  • Dr. Stone (basically building civilization from the ground up. standard shounen characters, but in a rather interesting setting)
  • Dumbbell Nan Kilo Moteru? (moe blob by Doga Kobo)
  • Enen no Shouboutai (fire fighting anime. very cool premise and nicely animated)
  • Vinland Saga (probably the single best show so far this season. shows that CGI can actually be used well in anime)

Those are probably the strongest shows so far. A few, like Cop Craft, have fallen off pretty hard after the first episode sadly. There's also a few sequels out there like Danmachi season 2 and Takagi-san season 2. So if you've seen the first season, you may want to check those out as well. Also the second season of Quan Zhi Gao Shou (The King's Avatar) is supposed to come out August 19th. It's an ONA so, most likely, all the episodes will be released at once.

Knocked a few great ones off the list today!

The Quintessential Quintuplets

Finished up this one fairly quickly. Actually pretty wonderful, came in with fairly low expectations and loved it. Looking forward to the second season and in the mean time, reading the manga. Felt the anime did a fairly good job in a short time of pacing the character development. Overall, I’m pleased.

Oh, and Miku pout = best pout.

Tamako Love Story

A wonderful addition to an overall nice series. The series pacing wasn't quite for me, but the movie is perfect!

Nagi no Asukara was great. Visually stunning as well. If you want another type of visually stunning, try Houseki no Kuni. Full CGI anime and it does not disappoint. Truly a gorgeous show.

As for what I've been watching, I recently started up White Album. I'll be honest, so far I definitely prefer White Album 2 over this series. And no, White Album 2 is actually not a sequel nor is the story related in any way. The only thing connecting the series is a song within the universe titled "White Album". But I'm halfway through, and the second season is also only 13 episodes. Hopefully it picks up enough near the end to entice me to at least watch the second season.

So basically, we have to wait about 2 years to get your feedback on if you liked our suggestions? :(

_MEGA give me a few months ;) I’m 15 episodes in and think it’s a riot already.

Of the current seasonal Animes, for this season, I'm really enjoying Fire Force, To the Abandoned Sacred Beasts, and I'm trying to enjoy Dr. Stone...
Whats your guys opinions on these?
