Anime What are you currently watching?

I've been pretty busy these days, so I haven't had much time to sit down and watch much of anything. However, I have been doing my best to keep up with the 2nd season of Fruits Basket. Although, I am, admittedly, still two episodes behind on that. Still enjoying it. Even though I've read the manga, I still enjoy pretty much every episode along the way. I have been very satisfied with this adaptation.

Watching Bleach rn, but everyone should check out "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time", honestly such a great movie.

I haven't had so much fun watching anything as I just did watching Girls & Panzer der Film

After completing the movie I think this may have just turned into one of my favourite anime series, ever. I have never had so much glee and fun watching something. Very well could become my go-to “must watch” anime recommendation to people just for pure fun.

Tanks, cute girls, happiness, friendships, rivalries, epic CGI tank battles, and pure ridiculousness. I loved every second of it.

Simon Simon , you have to know that my friends in real life think I would love this because I am a WWII nerd...

said friends also called out how similar I am to Kohta Hirano from Highschool of the Dead as far as weapon geeking out....

I do not watch anime but I would love to start, do you have any suggestions?

MacArther MacArther I can’t recommend it enough! If you do love tanks and history, I think you would enjoy it. A friend who loves tanks loved this anime too. It’s on Netflix too currently (in Canada anyways)

Kup0 Kup0 there's quite a few good "starter" shows I might suggest that tend to get people interested in the medium. Here's a couple you can easily access on Netflix

- Death Note
- Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
- Angel Beats
- Code Geass

I'm sure others could chime in but those are a few good ones you can easily have access to and give a shot on.

Just recently watched Tenki no Ko. I actually wanted to see it when it released in theaters, but never found the time. To be honest, kind of glad I didn't. Overall, it's basically Kimi no Na wa, but slightly less interesting story and characters. The music was good and of course the visuals were stunning. But I actually didn't think Kimi no Na wa was all that special to begin with, so this is just another movie to add to the pile of forgettable for me I suppose.

To be honest, both Kimi no Na wa and Tenki no Ko remind me heavily of the central driving drama of Nagi no Asu kara. But Nagi no Asu kara simply pulls it off so much better. I wonder if this specific theme/driving force is something that needs more time to be explored and a movie just doesn't work. I kind of feel that is my issue with the two films is that the story and drama starts real slow, but all of a sudden we are maybe 85% of the way to the climax of the story. I wonder if there is just a lack of time for a more dramatic buildup.

Simon gave you a few solid choices to start with. Do you have any particular genres of shows you think you might be most interested in? If so, I'm sure we could collectively put together a solid list for you to check out.

Very quickly binged through Monthly Girls Nozaki-Kun. Incredibly fun characters and comedy.

Working on Sakura Quest now. The premise intrigued me and the first few episodes were decent enough to continue.

I've been watching the Tower of God anime and I have to say, as a huge fan of the original comic, I think it's being done rather well so far. Of course, this could change depending on the pacing of the following episodes. But as of right now, I have a vague idea of where things will ideally end, given we only have 13 total episodes. If things will end where I fear they will, it will be incredibly rushed. However, I love that they have kept true to the original art style. Often times when Korean or Chinese or other works get anime adaptations, the art style seems to shift slightly to more closely resemble the "standard" in anime. My only real complaint is that, when the action sequences and fights become even more dynamic later in the series, ufotable would have been the clear choice to animate those. While I don't think it will exactly live up to the hype around it, I am still enjoying it for what it is. Needless to say, there is a reason there has been a lot of hype around this series. I would argue it's one of the most successful and widespread webtoons out there.

_MEGA _MEGA just came to this forum to post about Tower of God. I love it so far, take in mind that there isn't an anime that I've watched that I think was bad (other than most of Boruto).

I need to continue watching Darwin's Game whenever I get the chance, as well as Cautious Hero. Need to watch the last EP of Boku No Hero and catch up on Season 3 of 7DS.

I'm super excited for the Fall, Re:zero: Starting Life in Another World Season 2 and That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime Season 2 right after.

webby webby Glad you're enjoying it. I do encourage you to check out the original webtoon if you have time. It's currently 478 chapters in and is an absolutely amazing adventure. As for the bad anime, if you ever want to fix that problem of not having seen any, I can most definitely give you a list of shows that are bad if you're interested.

In other news, now that I have a 3 week break before my next class, I was able to sit and start up something else. Started watching Kukushigoto. I'm getting those barakamon/usagi drop/udon kuni/amaama vibes and I'm liking it. The first episode was a bit intense with the amount of characters introduced, but 3 episodes in and I'm enjoying it.

Started The Pet Girl of Sakurasou. A few episodes in and I think it's wonderful. Great mix of comedy and drama with a wonderful cast of misfits living under the same roof.
