Kinda lame with all the storyline development for the final season but still quite enjoyable. Aegon getting some finally and Jaime finally frees himself from his now former lover, Cersei. Finally Little Finger dies but he went way too out of character in the end. I'm glad Tormund didn't die. The Wight Dragon was pretty cool but I think they spent too much time on it in the end to just take down the wall.

I didn't care much for this past season in terms of plot development. They tried too hard to fit 10 episodes into 7. It felt like they sacrificed time in favor of trying to tidy everything up leading into the final season. Like Sturm said, things are working out a little too well. But it was, overall, and okay season. Not the best one, but not the worst either.
Littlefinger's death was not as enjoyable as it could have been. A sliced throat isn't anything special. Jaime finally growing a pair and walking out on his bitch of a sister was satisfying. Theon was Theon, nothing special there. Learning Jon Snow's heritage was neat, though it was already hinted at in past episodes. And I knew, as soon as I saw the dragon die, that they'd use it on the wall, so the "cliffhanger" wasn't really much of one. The blue Godzilla breath was kinda lame, but it's whatever.
The worst part is that they're saying it'll be a year or more before the final season begins airing. Though, since there will only be 6 episodes, they're supposed to be at least 80 or 90 minutes long. Still, a year is a long time to wait. Meh.

I agree for the mostpart - I think cutting it down to 7 episodes instead of 10 caused the season to suffer a bit in terms of plot development because everything was moving so fast
There were some things that were great, some things that were pretty outlandish but all in all I feel like this season was pretty good. I feel like they definitely must have taken the show in a different direction from the outline GRRM provided for the plot since some of the writing felt... I mean... I don't know. Fanservice-y? Which isn't a bad thing, but this season definitely had a different feel to it than even last season, IMO. I hope they take that 1.5-2 years between now and the final season to make it more memorable and less rushed-seeming
Littlefinger's death took me by surprise honestly. We went from Arya and Sansa having what was probably the dumbest argument we've ever seen to the two uniting to take down Littlefinger literally the next day. And I think that just cutting his throat was a lame death compared to what the character deserved - one of my friends said it would've been more interesting if people had, say, crushed him with the statue of Ned Stark. Now that would've been metal. Though I don't think the groveling and begging for mercy was as out of character as people think - Littlefinger's strengths were with manipulating people and he was a bit out of his element when a time-and-space wizard, a face-changing ninja master and one of the best diplomats in Westeros combined forces to bring him down. I think it was his last-ditch effort to save himself when he knew pretty much nothing else was going to work
Although Theon's reaction to getting kicked in the knickers was great, that look of 'now you [bleep]ed up' though... and that moment with Jaime and Cersei was TENSE. I was pretty sure the season was going to end with him getting maimed at best or murdered at worst
I am also fairly certain that Viserion wasn't breathing fire at all though. There was no steam when the ice 'melted' (Which, really it was more like it was all collapsing) and I mean, the army of the dead hates fire... ice is their thing and all. I think it might be some of that magical Not-Ice? that the White Walkers' weapons all seem to end in, possibly some sort of weaponized breath version of it, since we pretty clearly saw the Wall just SHATTERING when Viserion breathed on it. That same magical 'ice' has been shown to instantly kill the living and destroy pretty much any material that isn't Valyrian steel/Dragonglass
tl;dr: this was a good season. Not the best we've seen, but it does set the stage well enough for the final season. Hopefully they take their time, as this season felt rather rushed.

I am mad that i have to wait a year for Jon and Daenerys to find out they are related, although I don't think it will matter much they are Targaryens after all.
I am also very glad to see Jaime doing the right thing, I hope he joins Jon and Daenerys and foils Cersei's little "escapade".
The Night King and his army are Probably going to kill off quite a bit of the cast, and we all need to prepare for it.
