Requesting the following changes from the Gov't:

To promote better RP scenes and prevent crackheads from having this powerful set of job tools.

Restrict mechanic functions as follows:
Recruit : Tow and Clean
Novice : Add Repair, Billing
Exper : Add Impound
Boss : Add promote/fire up to Experienced. *DOOR FUNCTION: Withdraw Stock
Owner : Promote/Fire all, banking.

Change store-bought lockpicks/repairkits to enable a high probability of failure, 60-80%.
Repairing vehicles doesn't happen by buying a " Fix It " kit from walmart and it " just works " for all makes and models WITHOUT ANY TRAINING.

what about adding in official On/Off duty status too. Too often, a call goes out, and we will lumber up to the call in a flatbed only to find a mechanic who was not "working on duty" came by and F6'd the thing. Just turn off the call notifications for those not on duty or something? The players can still utilize the mechanic menu with what ever permissions they have as stated above, but they don't receive the calls until they are on duty or a mechanic notifies them they need help.

A lot of people tend to pick mechanic as their job, so they can fix their stuff as they go, and this on/off duty change could help RP that a little better. Again, a mechanic is a mechanic, you can fix engine stuff but you wont roll up to a car crash on your moped and have the necessary tools to get the car rolling again.

If the ranks can't be easily adjusted for those restrictions, i'd suggest whitelisting the mechanic job entirely. At the very least requiring an informal ingame interview, to verify it's not just some crackhead troll. There are approximately 60 names of recruits i've never met, seen, or heard of. I cannot fire them without them being online, and I'm sure there are several in that list who aren't crackheads and are just in a different timezone.

Its true there are crackheads but if u did those changes what happens if there are only recruits. they cant repair or bill so there pretty much getting ripped off. As well if u see a person doing that report it since it is fail to rp. you cant just stop and fix and go in real life so report it and the admins will deal with it.

Well he mentioned it in the original post (albeit not this one)that it would encourage them to see the boss! That way everyone is working along the same lines and in coordination.

Ok, I need to add to this request! I appreciate the new garage feature, but with it's addition, and the removal of /pv we HAVE TO dial in the mechanic positions. cars keep getting stolen, even after locking the cars which indicates they were lockpicked, or hijacked. I really doubt someone is going to pay 5,000 for a lock pick, so I believe it is a lot of recruits abusing their hijack feature.

If we leave it the way it is, and we can't dial in the mechanic stuyff we are asking for, I request something like On-Star for a paid fee upon install where I can locate my car. Then, I can go find the guy and "politely" convince him to quit being an ass and stealing rides.

Restricting permissions of mechanics based on their level, limiting permissions of those not on duty, or let me install OnStar to my rides.

I must say, I had to pay a mechanic that didn't even fix my car. And that itself was extremely frustrating because it seemed like a fake.

I had the same issue the other day... I am not sure if they even tried to use a repair kit, maybe they didn't know it was possible. They did some animation but my ambulance wasn't fixed on my end, I thought it was a glitch so I just rp'd it was fixed. If it was a scam, it would technically be allowed under rp, it would just be illegal as its a scam. I always try and get Hideout or Krylles when I need a mechanic as I trust them to do good work.

There is an issue with repairs not syncing, vehicle damage not syncing, etc. When a repair is done, the mechanic needs to get into the driver seat to verify that the job is done.

I've repaired a couple cars where on my screen it was fixed but for the customer it was still broken. Not sure why that was happening. Also had a mechanic try to fix a car and it didn't work at all, till I tried which worked.

^Krylles explains it

Ah great. At least you know the cause and a work around. Thanks for the reply!
