Tech Help Monitor Issue

Any idea why my monitor keeps turning off at times ? Sometimes it turns off and on for like 3 times in a roll. When it does that sometimes it stays on good or it just shuts off good for about 5-10 minutes and then comes back on. I've tried updating drivers but it says no new updates. Monitor: BenQ Gl2460 Any help ?

Your display drivers could be crashing. Make sure you're running the current drivers for your GPU.

Thanks for the help . Im currently looking into getting another power cable for the monitor to see if that fixes the problem. I tried another outlet but with the same power cable and got the same problem later that day.

Is it the monitor that is having issues? Do you see the power light going completely off and coming back on or is it turning amber or a different color and then changing back?
If its changing colors or saying no source then you would want to check the connection.

I have seen that issue multiple time before and it can be either an issue with the cables (HDMI or whatever you use) or a problem with the graphics. Last time I saw this it was the graphics chip going bad. Thats the worse case scenario though.

I would say try a different monitor if possible. Maybe a cheep temporary small monitor would work or even hook it up to your TV and run it for a bit and see if you get the same result. If you do its something wrong on the machine itself. Either a driver issue like DigitalDJ said or an issue with the graphics card.

Also the way it's hooked up. I found with mine the way they were hooked up caused problems.
