Hey everyone!
I'm here to bring you the first edition of State of GTA. This is a recap of the last month or so including announcements, promotions, and other things that you may have missed.
Some Recent Announcements

Promotions & Specialty Team Additions
We added several new admins to our team and if you do not pay attention to the shoutbox or close attention in game, you may have missed them. We'd like to recognize the following people for their promotions as a result hard work and dedication to the GTA V RP server:

We continuously recruit mature admins to keep our server free of punks. We highly recommend those who may be seeking a promotion to keep up the great work on the server and make sure that you are following the rules and helping other players.
In addition to some promotions, we also made some additions to our specialty teams. For those who do not know, EdgeGamers has a variety of specialty teams available for the games. These consist of admin trainers, recruitment coordinators, and event coordinators. In mid-October, we set out in search of some admin trainers to train our new admins. With great pleasure, I'd like to again congratulate Bigtram and EnviousRG on becoming admin trainers! Thank you for what you do.
Recruitment
Ever since we started the GTA V RP server in EdgeGamers, we have welcomed a great amount of new members to EGO. For all but one month since we began, we have led the recruitment of new EGO members. I announce with great pleasure that last month (October), we recruited a total of 61 new members. I'd also like to congratulate StrayBog for being the top recruiter for GTA in October.
We encourage all of our members to go out and welcome players to EdgeGamers and get them on our Teamspeak and Discord to communicate with them. Add them on Steam and check in with them and help them with any questions they may have. For anyone who may want to join EdgeGamers can do so at http://www.edge-gamers.com/join.
Fire Department Appreciation
We faced a tough time recently after our Fire Department command staff left for other opportunities. There were some concerns about the future of the Department but after assigning some new command staff, the LSFD has seen great improvement and is excelling today!
I'd especially like to thank Chief Summer, Assistant Chief
Leaf
, and Lieutenant owlbearturtle for their hard work and dedication to the LSFD. Keep up the great work guys!
Sheriff's Department Appreciation
To our Deputies, thank you for the hard work that you do. The command staff and leadership team understand how stressful your job can be at times. The roleplay on the server ultimately rotates around you all. Without the exceptional roleplay and law enforcement from our Deputies, the roleplay on the server could potentially be in the can. Keep up the great work!
I'd also like to extend special thanks to the LSSD Command Staff for the hours they have poured in to make our Deputies happy and shaping the Department to what it is today. Without your leadership, the Department could potentially be in a completely different direction.
The Technical Side of Things
We can not have a good roleplay server if the server is not stable or does not have the proper plugins to allow for it. The leadership team has worked hard collectively to make sure that our server is maintained to good standards so our players have a smooth experience.

The leadership team has recently discovered a site called "TrackyServer" that allows us to keep track of our server statistics and even vote and favorite the server to help it gain popularity. Very similar to a Minecraft voting site, except it does not reap rewards. Vote for us today!

Teamspeak
We highly encourage all of our civilians and players to come on our Teamspeak to talk with our members and to get to know one another. In addition, you will get to meet with and get to know the other members of EdgeGamers from some of the other games that we support. You can join us at ts.edge-gamers.com

General Appreciation to our Players
To our players: our server could not be where it is today without you. The extensive dedication, effort and roleplay experience that has been brought to our server have really shaped our server to where we are now and where we will be going in the months to come!
To add to this, our server used to see a lot of what a lot of us call "crack-heads" aka trolls and it made the server difficult to play on at times. Over the past several weeks, our dedicated player base has brought real roleplay to the server and we have seen a general improvement of the roleplay in the server. Not to say it is perfect, but there has been a great improvement.
I'd like to remind all our players that the Leadership team is here to listen to your concerns and suggestions. We will never purposely turn you down or refuse to listen to you. We listen to all the suggestions and concerns that are brought to us and then discuss it amongst the leaders and the people directly associated with the issues to make sure everyone's experience on the server is excellent. We have seen many times where members have frustrations but instead of coming to a leadership member or making a post in our Dropbox, they let it build up over time, discuss it with other members (potentially not having a full understanding of the situation) and then letting their emotions getting the best of them. If you have an issue on the server, please take the time to discuss with our leaders or even take it to the Dropbox.
