2018 Thread: RP Heading Downhill

When I stop people I mostly just talk to them and give them a slightly hard time. I don’t even issue traffic citations usually. Ask Blaziken how many traffic cites I’ve hit him with in the 300 times I’ve pulled him over (not many). The walkers are the same. I used to pull them over in traffic a lot and they almost always left with just a warning.

Cops want RP and want to talk situations out. Cops can’t do that when people run and gun with them all the time. That’s why the fines and jail time has become exponentially worse... it’s trying to deter people to actually stop and talk.

this is so, almost all the time it would be a "watch your speed please, have a good day" which is the reason to pull over, no point on getting a felony for no reason

To add on to the money thing... as one of the many arms dealers in the city, without money people can’t buy our guns either. Most of the time I’m always just waiting to RP gun deals and when people ask for the prices, it’s always too much for them. So not only is it a money grind, but even when we’re not grinding money we can’t RP these scenarios either. I’m excited to see what the future holds for the server and economy though

To add to what my brother said about guns, ive noticed that the prices to buy guns from the gun menu have not changed with the economy, i would like to get this lowered in be able to sell guns to the community as a lower and more reasonable price

i feel like ever since the new years reset RP has gone downhill. People are getting paid way less money but the cost to buy everything has stayed the same which makes no sense if you ask me. Also, i feel like people just hop on the server and money grind. you never see people hosting car shows or hangouts, everyone is just at the chicken factory trying to make money. Also, now that people have found out about /repair the mechanics are getting screwed as no one is calling them for help. Overall i feel that the RP aspect of the server has gone downhill ever since the reset. This is just my opinion, not a hate speech.

Honestly i dont respect you saying that rp is going downhill when all you and your crew is selling weapons and thats it u complain about the chicken shit, and you make our runs in selling 1 carbine so please dont complain. but otherwise i agree!

thats why I am a criminal and not an animal abuser, high risk = high reward

I'm all for the RP and having a fun time with everyone, but can we please look into HOW people are RP-ing certain situations? For instance, do we really need people singing/blasting sexual/racist songs down the mic and getting away with it because it's a song? Or patrolling Pill Box and hearing someone's open mic as they blast through the city 150mph in a supercar?

And I have recently been deterred from actively coming onto the server as an RP situation was brought to me IRL and i got a bollocking instead of the error being done in RP and my character getting a bollocking. There is a fine line between giving someone a heads up and bringing them out of their broadcast to tell them their character did wrong (which in fact they didn't), and just saying "Hey, you cannot do that because XYZ!". Well, instead of giving the player a bollocking, give the character a bollocking for RP purposes?

I will not be returning until I see some changes made to some people's attitudes towards the current state of RP. Though I must give credit, the server is doing amazing things and has great potential!

Honestly, now that the econ has been changed, it's much better. People will stop grinding instead, rp more.

Now, it's just up to how the people will handle the RP.

why pull over when the cops arrest you for an absurd amount of time for small offenses 4Head

In its current state, the sentence you receive will never essentially amount to what the crime you committed is worth. This is a valid point that sigma spoke about at the recent town hall meeting. If someone's been loading their truck with chicken for an hour and they're almost finished and you come up and whack them and commandeer their belongings, make it to lucky plucker and sell it all before the law catches up with you, which happens quite often; it took you 15 minutes on average AT THE MOST to make the amount of the money they made in an hour and you usually won't serve any more than 15 minutes in jail unless you kill an absurd amount of cops. Just pull over. Whatever you did won't cost you nearly as much time or money as most people think. Even if someone committed a major offense in real life allot of times; not always, they won't attempt to flee in a vehicle because they know they will get put into a wall or wrapped around a light pole and 9/10 if you get ****ed that hard you're going to be severely incapacitated. Atleast that's the way pursuits usually end in the county I live in even though we have a no pursue policy with the highway patrol AND the closest located agencies to me. As I said, not everybody runs from cops.

In addition, since this topic is about fail RP, as I stated at the town hall meeting, the biggest issue with fail RP still remains driving in my opinion. Too many people are driving at high rates of speed in an RP situation and hitting other vehicles and blaming it on desync.

damn, crazy to see where we are now compared to when i made this post

was looking at some tb stuff and im just like damn. looking at what this server was in the beginning (8 or 16 players only in paleto) to now. its crazy and an amazing thing to see

You're not lying, throwback posts always hit me differently. I remember the good ole Paleto days and when we had a separate site (gta.edge-gamers.com). To see the various new types of RP available to everyone, the DOJ, and even how much the law enforcement aspect has changed makes my heart happy.

What a necromancer!

But for real, I'm glad I joined when I did. I probably would've been out the door if all the issues mentioned here, were a thing now.
