What's up with these idle Sniper bots in a matchmaking server?

Yesterday, something baffled me and other players in the server: Six idle Sniper bots in BLU Team. They were apparently standing in the spawn room and not doing anything. The real human players in BLU Team couldn't vote-kick the bots and got stuck with them even as the server changed maps. My team spawn camped BLU, and I felt sorry for the human players in the opposite team, so I gave them sandviches.



After I recorded this video, the server changed maps a few times until one human player was left on BLU Team. The lone player kept the spawn door open to let my team farm their Stranges on the bots. Finally, I got bored and left the server but saw new players connecting to the server. Hmm, I wonder how long those idle bots stayed on the server.

I suppose it was not any coincidence that ~5 of these 6 idle bots shared the name "Anti Violence Squad".

There's been a rise in a guy named BOT Larry (Who was VAC'd in another game) who goes into servers with 5 or 6 of his "NON-VIOLENCE SQUAD" bots who are snipers who just move occasionally in spawn and don't do anything in order to ruin games.

Thanks for the info. I do remember seeing Bot Larry (I forgot to mention him earlier) with those idle bots that day. I hope I won't encounter them again.

I was on a Casual valve server, on the same team with a squad of 'CAT Bot' snipers, and bot medics, pocketing them. they were just destroying the other team, and killing the server. I called a vote to kick them a few times, and no one on my team would kick them. so, I just left.

In my case, it was impossible for the human players on the team with six idle bots to get a majority of votes to kick them.

In another incident I experienced before the time I encountered the idle bots, I remember that there were two aimbotters in my team in a casual matchmaking server. The other team begged my team to vote-kick the aimbotters in my team, but those two aimbotters somehow put in four or five automatic no-votes instantly no matter how many times I or my teammates try to vote-kick them. The two aimbotters also retaliated by vote-kicking anyone on my team who tried to vote-kick the two aimbotters. I had no idea how they did those things, and I eventually left the server along with a bunch of players. It was very peculiar, and I imagine frustrating for the opposing team.
