As someone who has used Discord quite a bit, I also cannot wrap my head around a massive community like ours not being divided with the use of Discord (and as Bolton put it, separate Discords for each division). Text chat is great, sure, but TeamSpeak already has this function, and I personally like the UI much better than Discord in regards to voice communication. As CrossCheck mentioned, TeamSpeak isn't broken, why fix it?

Honestly, the easiest way to transfer us from TeamSpeak to Discord without causing a massive Discord server would be to set up Discord servers for each division, which would just divide EGO rather than bring us all together. You lose the feeling of community that way.

Good answer, I can agree with this. Just wanted to see a little more reasoning behind people?s answers, especially with how it would work with eGO :) thanks!
 
This is a tough one. I feel like its kinda out with old in with new using Discord. But then there is also the saying don't fix something unless its broken. TeamSpeak does EGO just fine. I love Discord. But TeamSpeak is the way for EGO to go until only Discord can offer something that we need.
 
I only use teamspeak for eGO.
Discord for everything else. (Even the eGO discord)
 
The frank truth is that Teamspeak works better for a community of our scope and scale. If we were a community focusing on just one game (maybe 2, 3 at the most), Discord might work. But for one that has 9 main divisions and lesser supper for various other games/genres, Teamspeak simply works better in so many ways. Not the least of which is the in-depth permissions and category/channel structure.

I can live without the text chat because the entire point of these platforms is voice in the first place. That and I find large Discord servers' chat rooms to be annoying.
