I'm 5 songs in and they're all damn good so far. If you've got the player for it (MediaMonkey for example), I'd recommend dl'ing in FLAC format, otherwise MP3 (any player) or M4A (iTunes) is fine.

Actually, I think it's really cool that they are doing this. I have a lot of respect for Trent and the fact that he uses his prominence in the industry to go against industry norms. There are few artists out there who are successful enough that they can break with the masses and have it be noticed.

I agree. I think that Trent is great for the business. There seems to be this old guard that exists in the recording industry that is resistant to change. The move distributing music via the Internet has been a slow and sometimes painful process.

When Trent does things like [link=http://www.42entertainment.com/YearZero/]this[/link] it helps to shake things up a bit.
