So I just got an email saying that EVGA just shipped a package to me. Couldn't tell what it was so I called their customer support. They confirmed that the video card failed completely during testing (guess I haven't lost my Tech Support cred for the forums at least) and they shipped a replacement card.

It's a GTX 660 Ti. They must have a giant warehouse of them somewhere where they can't even get rid of these cards. Oh well. At least I'll be able to game on something on my desktop as I keep watching GPU prices for my new PC Build (>50% bought)

So after... almost a month without a video card for my desktop, I finally got my replacement, installed it, updated the drivers, and now I'm back in action finally. Good news: my laptop has a 1060 mobile card in it so I wasn't bereft of all gaming for the month.
The sad irony is I've bought over half of the new desktop parts I plan for my new Photography/Gaming machine, but at least I'll have a good, working backup. i5-2500K, 660 Ti, 8GB DDR3 RAM... I'll add it to my stack of old backup PCs (i3/A64 3000+)

That's assuming I decide I can't wait for my 1080! Still haven't bought the CPU or mobo yet; trying to time their purchase with the GPU because once I got either one of those three, it's time to complete the build.
