Probationary Admins?

Hey guys, I know I'm new to eGO proper, but is it too early to ask what the process is for becoming at least a probationary admin? There have been a tremendous amount of jackasses on the server lately: bad language, hack accusations, griefing each other (smoking positions, etc) and I'm almost always in there saying "sorry guys, not an admin, I'll pass it on".

If there's some other recourse that will get a rapid admin response, please let me know and I'll gladly apologize for the wasted post. Otherwise, I'd love to hear y'all's thoughts on what can be done. eGO is a great place to play and I'd love to do whatever I can to help keep it that way.

Becoming an admin is something just earned over time. Since you're very new and we don't know you too well yet, that's a part of it. We look for activity on the forums and ingame, ban reports, etc. Most importantly though, just be yourself and enjoy the game. We have a policy - play first, admin second. Even with a ton of admins, we will miss things sometimes.

We do ban request forms here to take care of issues that admins either weren't able to handle ingame or are reported from non-admins. Just need to take down the evidence and it will get handled: https://www.edge-gamers.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?1233-Request-Ban

Thanks for the ban request link and I'll go add you right now. I get that it's just a matter of time spent around here, just looking to help out however I can.
 
Try posting more on our dod forums and use the team speak channels where you will be kindly received , information is available on both. You will get to be known quicker that way, good luck .

Teamspeak is a great way to get to know you too. While the channels may seem quiet, most nights you will find myself and S Superglue hanging around.
 
Speaking of TS, Simon and I would love to have some other guys to hang out with. Should come hit us up!
 
Just gonna say this cause I want it stated, even though its not going bring any change.

The process of becoming an admin with ego is pretty bogus. And it hampers the server as well. Because admins are the only tool you used for server management, you really should have more.

If there are regulars on the server who legit want things fixed and the server managed, some of them ought to have the power to do so.
Making DOD:S exclusive admins (they only have authority on Ego's Day of Defeat servers) would be a very smart idea.
These would be regulars whom play on the server frequently whom are trused.
The reason being exclusive, is because I can understand the long process to become an admin on ego if you have authority everywhere.


And the need for an admin to police the server for afks is also bogus. That should have already been resolved by afk scripts.

Just pointing out what I perceive to be very inefficient bureaucracy work when a lot of us just want things to be better.
 
This isn't really with the admin topic, more so with the mention of teamspeak. I'm usually on teamspeak from anywhere from 4-6 hours a day. Hanging out playing games (not just the servers). If you ever see me on (ibanyou #NoMonitor), please don't be afraid to pop in and say hi and introduce yourself. I would like to believe that you should be able to do that in any channel, especially the csgo channels, but I won't speak for others.
 
I've been trying to look around for a few e's to see who's on and can help out when the server is loaded, but I rarely see any G's or e's anymore, although my play schedule is quite frankly all over the place. Most admins that do play frequently are on during the morning and noon times Eastern. I hardly get on Teamspeak either because I don't talk much when I'm playing.
 
Im on their quite often but its normally late at night or early in the morning :) Im a night owl. (Plus I work third shift so staying up all night is kinda my thing)

If your ever on and dont have an admin on your friends list feel free to message me and ill see if I have one on mine.
 
I've been wondering about the same thing a while ago. I even lost my temper a bit, I'm sorry about that btw lol. I'll make sure to hang out on Teamspeak, so I can get to know you all a little better :-). Made a few ban requests.
