Thinking of buying Saitek?

They're one of our new sponsors, and that's great. However, my current keyboard is an illuminated Saitek Eclipse II, and I couldn't be happier.

Bubbles got one first, because she's not a touch typist, so an illuminated keyboard was simply a matter of typing in low light conditions. I had bought myself a $10 cheapy that left me lots of space in my keyboard tray for mousing.

When I had to do a few things on Bubble's computer, I fell in love with the keyboard. I like the way it feels, I like the illumination, and I wanted one, so we got me one, too. It's a solid keyboard that seems to take my pounding on it during gaming quite well.

So, if you're considering a new keyboard, check out Saitek. My experience has only been positive.

I love the Saitek keyboards. I used one for quite sometime, and the last one I owned has since made its way to my youngest daughter by way of my wife. They both love it, and as such when my wife and I got new computers, my wife insisted on the newer version, the Eclipse II(daughter has version 1).

I unfortunately(at least since its one of our sponsers) dont use one anymore. I found a keyboard that I like for gaming and other than the foray into the saitek for quite sometime, went back to this other company and got one from them. No its not a G15, though I have one of the older versions of those with little use, sitting in my closet(didnt really care for it).

I already have an Eclipse II, which is great for typing with lights-out. I think I might be one of the few people who prefer the red backlighting. I also have a Saitek portable media player speaker. Too bad that's all stuff I bought before they became our sponsor though - I guess there's no way of giving eGO a sales referral after the fact :(. I've been meaning to get a Cyborg Evo joystick at some point though, so I don't know if there's a way of giving a referral?

I have an Eclipse I, and it's suiting me just fine. I like the color scheme it has. Just the Blue glow is good enough for me. I really enjoy the wrist-rest that it has, it's really ergonomic and suits many hand sizes. Including the sheep shearing - bag piping size. It even gives a High - Low and No glow options for the LEDs in the keyboards if you want to change them. I love it. One day Saitek will forray into the world of Monitors.. and I'll replace this Hanns-G last minute buy...

I have a Saitek keyboard I just realized. It's sitting behind me. My brother got it a couple years ago, but when he moved out he left it. It's a great keyboard and still works flawlessly after like 4 years. It's just that I prefer flat keys to raised keys :)

All the LEDs still work on it and the buttons are in in perfect working condition. It has a pretty cool layout to it. as well. It's just their basic keyboard though, plus it is old compared to all of these new fancy ones that they have out now with all of the software and metal keys and whatnot. Great brand to buy from, I would say they are definitely one of the top three brands for gaming equipment, up there with Logitec and Razor. Good quality stuff that lasts a long time. I would definitely recommend them if you are looking to buy.

If I had money to spend, I'd pick up a Cyborg keyboard. If they were out. That keyboard looks SEXY.

I guess the one thing that bothers me about it is since I use a left-handed mouse, I don't use WSAD for movement. I use IJKL. If they made a version with THOSE keys painted a different color it'd be sweet.

Mo0, that's actually a good idea. I'd submit a suggestion to Saitek if I were you. It might not be a large enough market for them to do it, but I know Dangerdad mouses lefty, too.

I'm loving my Eclipse keyboard... had it for a couple years now, and it's still outstanding. When I upgrade next, i'll get the Eclipse II :-)

I have an eclipse keyboard atm... the wsd buttons are wore off and i have only had it 5 months lol.. Im looking forward to getting a new mouse and gamepad. Ill prob look at their selection on what they have. Their new cyborg keyboard looks cool. Their cyborg mouse looks cooler :)

I've had my Eclipse 1 for about four years now and it's been a great keyboard. The letters don't light up, but illuminate around the keys, which is enough for me in the dark. It's an old keyboard, but I love it. Nothing but good things to say about Saitek.

How flat is the eclipse 2? I don't like elevated (angled) keyboards because it hurts my wrists.

i cannot stand their joysticks. Too light weight for me

And yes, I do use a joystick when I play (movement and shooting, not aiming).

(:

[/quote1210622450]Oh my god, Dangerdad is my new best friend. He's the first person I know outside of my family who mouses lefty. =O
