yeah im payin $100 for 2 phone lines (1 dedicated for internet) and $20 for 56 isp service for that much i could get like aTV/Internet/Phone package for 6 months... where did i go wrong moving to a town with no hi-speed

The best i could do before was .768 megs up but I never got more than .5 up. That was on Charter Cable. I also had to pay extra to get the 5 MB down for Charter and was capped out at 5.

There's a certain amount of overhead associated with each connection due to content filtering, firewalls, virus checking, traversing routed subnets, and even overt throttling. You will never get the amount of bandwidth that they're advertising (and that you're paying for). The consumer is being defrauded, but nobody of any authority seems interested in pursuing the problem.

well im paying for a 56K and i only get like 50.6 and dl speed of 8 kbs (IE dls and steam and etc) and 4-8 upload (same thing) start a petition we have that right or wait did the government take that away when the patriot bill was signed?
