Gas or electric cars?

Thanks to Redneck69 for this poll suggestion!

If you have an idea for a poll, please submit poll suggestions in the "Front Page Poll Questions" thread.

Even though we do have a fossil fuel problem, I cant help but love an old school gas chugging muscle car... 69' Chevelle SS with a 454.

Gas, but that's predominantly because it's from 1997 and it's a truck used to haul stuff around in fairly frequently.

Well the electricity for an electric car has to come from somewhere, so it's still burning something.

I think electric will become the way of the future. I drive a gas car, then take transit because I work deep downtown.

Possibly, I'm of the mindset that hydrogen possibly will simply due to the fact that the distribution and fueling of it is incredibly similar to gas. Plus they have a much longer range since they can be fueled quickly. If electric can get over that little hump of a problem in charging time/distance it has a good shot though.

Right at the moment I totally agree with you on the burning thing with cars atm. Just because there is not enough regenerative energy right now available to power everything.

Where I disagree is that you have to burn something to gain energy. There are plenty of ways gaining energy without burning something (wind or water e.g.).

I hope the day comes where we do not need burning facilities and nuclear stuff to gain energy.

Ah an BTT: Right now I drive a Hybrid from Toyota. So kinda both. But I rarly use the car. Most stuff I do by walking or by bicycle (even going to work). It relaxes me, I live in germany away from the big cities, so its driving with the bike through the nature which calms me down after a rough day.

The problem is,
Gas cars are why global warming is such a big deal atm.
electric cars have horrible radiation, they're a carcinogen and nobody WANTS cancer.
the only viable option is magnetic levitation public transport, and kinetic transport (ie. walking, running, biking, skateboarding)

Can we teleport yet? LOL. Ugh. Honestly, both options stink. It would be nice if we had a safer way to travel that wasn't as time consuming as walking/bike riding.

Nuclear! If Fallout 4 has taught me anything, it's that nuclear energy is the way of the future!

But try to find a recharging station after it runs down and I am still burning out doing donuts around it and laughing....just saying :P

I put I don't care... because I don't. The world's going to die the way we're going.. but not before me!
Ok.. that's dark.
Actually... The "idea" of electric cars is all well in good and all... but the footprint for making them (specifically the lithium mines for the batteries) far exceeds the footprint created by making fuel cars...
In other words.... They both suck.

The only way you can be elitist about which is "better" is.... if you walk everywhere... And... I can't do that... I live in Texas... we measure distances in hours (via highway speeds)
