I need help getting a card~~dont know if i can ask this but can i get some donates and i need to know what i should get I have geforce 6100

Your best off waiting a month or so. ATI are releasing there new range in June closely followed by Nvidia. You should be able to pick up a nice cheap Nvidia 8800GT or ATI 3870 and if you mostly play source based games either of those cards will give you max performance.

Forgot to mention.. is it an AGP card you need to get or PCI express? As the above only come in PCI express and driver support for AGP cards are quickly going the way of the dinosaur.

If it's agp, then an Nvidia 7900GS or ATI 3650 / 3850 would be the best card for you. As far as I can remember ATI stopped supporting agp a few months back so you won't get any new official driver releases (But there is a community releasing "Omega drivers" for them.

7500?? you can build a really good gaming rig for just at or under 2000. In all reality if you already have the OS and a decent hard drive, you can configure one for 1400 or so.

Just FYI, AGP has been out of date for quite some time now. Even PCI-E is getting the boot in favor of PCI 2.0. I'm not sure it's worth it to just buy an AGP card. How old is this computer?

Aye, 7500 is a vast over-estimation.

I spent 3k on my last rig and that was with absolutely bleeding edge components.

1500-2000 is a good range for a gaming rig.

1500-2000? Holy crap. You don't even need to spend but mabey half of that to get a great comp that runs source games. 750 can get you a whole lot these days. If you pump 2 grand into a computer, then it is FAR beyond the needs for source games, unless it is a laptop

btw guys, i did some research for 5star & found that his mobo actually has a pci-e x16 slot so he can get the l8est n gr8est vid card. 5star, heres a hint, save up some $$ 4 a really good card.

i would say try to save up at least $100, this way whenever u do get that much $$, the 8800 cards will get down to bout that much.

Since 100+ seems to give you MANY MANY options on your pciE slot.

You spend 40 now, for performance that was good year or two ago. Spend 100+ get something that is current.
