D Day 6 June 1944

[I SURVIVED LONDON BLITZ]

The greatest and bloodiest day of the war which was titled the "war to end all wars " we have not progress very far in this, and yet my heart still cry's when I think of all our people who died to protect us from evil. Maybe I am getting emotional as I get older but remembering is good to remind us what our Grandfathers, fathers, brothers , and uncles did for us and not to forget all the women who was helping to fight the evil. May they all RIP.

Amen to this.. petty things dont matter compared to what the grandparents lived through. I never realized how much of a sacrifice it really was until I met my husbands grandparents who lived through the war and served in the war. Its amazing to hear them tell the stories they do. It's like a living history book when they replay the action and the strife they lived through. Being American you really dont quite understand in totality what the British and other european countries withstood. We learned about it in school but it doesn't compare to what they've taught me about actually having lived through it. May god celebrate our free lives and all those that lived to serve and protect our freedom.
