I was wondering if anyone had any clue what class(es) would get the next update... and the general time frame? I know Valve said "quicker" than the medic... Just wondering if there was any info on it.

I HOPE they release more than one class update at a time. I'd hate to see servers full of snipers, or spies. Although a team full of Engineers MIGHT be funny (like the EGO Hour last nite LOL!!!!).

Oh it'll be great if they release more than one class update coz the medic season wasn't my favorite! But I really don't know what classes will get the next update. I vote for Pyro =]

I tihnk Valve said that the classes the least used will get the achievements first. That means that pyro and engineer are next. I don't know if they are going to be released together or not. We'll see about that. After engineer it's spy I think.

Someone posted on the valve forums in the past week that the Pyro is next. This was based on a discovery in a game file where it lists the medic pack, followed by the pyro. I'll try and find the link.

If they are putting out new weapons and achievements, there is belief it will be the Pyro, as there is also a bit of proof. In the stats file in your TF2 folder, they changed something in the Pyro category that wasn't there when the Medic got his achievements.

I think the flamethrower should instead be a flamethrower, which, while doing very low damage at first, the burn damage increases with time, in total, 100 hitpoints of health are deducted. It sacrifices a speedy kill for a weapon which, gives the victim more time to seek aid, but if none is found, they will have lost a lot of health. This weapon does not disturb the balance of the pyro being short range. I call it: THE NEPALM SUPER SOAKER. No that was a joke. But you get the idea.

The shotgun is a tuffy - it certainly must not be able to be effective at long range, but it must be a fair trade off for the current one. It can't actually be 'better', but more effective at long range. My ideas are: a pistol which is more powerfull than current ones. IT MUST BE BETTER AT LONG RANGE, BUT USELESS AT CLOSE. A fair trade off - an unlockable piece of equiptment. The shotgun is the unlock I am least sure about, though.

Now the fire axe: when you have the fire axe out, you would be better with the flamethrower. It is a humiliation weapon. It must become a utility. A use similar to the ubersaw, but for pyro... hmm... I wonder. The pyro may have a meter which builds up to a special attack. It is a fire bomb. Three hits with the axe gives a right click special to either flamethrower equipped - the result: a demolike grenade which does splash damage to a max of 25hp but 50-75hp to a medic anytime, anywhere in the area. Of course, the burn damage is as usual 50hp - a weapon which causes retreat, leaving medics on 25-50hp. The axe fires slower than usual and does less damage. The final unlock.

I have thought hard of these ideas and if anyone has anything to add why not post it!! Seriously, though this is an improvement for the motolov idea and the long-range flamethrower. I want to see someone invent n alternative to the shotgun. IT CAN'T BE A WHOLE UPGRADE - just look at the balance of the medic weapons, people could easily live without the kiritz or blutsauger and I know people who have them but don't use them - the same goes with future weapons. However, the melée weapons can be complete upgrades, because no one goes hunting with them (except for the mongoloids who jump around with the bat?) So, thanks again - Haggus Mcgee

I just read an interview with Valve on IGN and they say that new updates should be out in the summer. They didn't mention anything about what class is next (they hinted at it being multiple classes). Also a new map at the same time!

So... August 31?

Pretty much everyone who knows me knows that I play pyro almost exclusively. That being said, I will only look forward to pyro achievements if Valve does multiple classes at the same time. I will refuse to play pyro if everyone's farming pyro achievements. At least pyro farmers won't disrupt gameplay as much as medic farmers. Medic is a co-op class and pyro is a strong solo class, thusly it won't have as much of an impact on overall teamwork.

I play pyro a lot, and I just figure Ill play the rival of each class who has an achievement at the moment, when its spys go pyro, when its pyros go solly etc.

I know that after the experience of my medic class being overrun by people trying to get the achivements, I'll be glad to see the pressure go elsewhere so I can medic it up alone again.

Everyone'll just have to live with me not having any of the special weapons for a while. =o

I seriously hope they release multiple classes at once, like everyone else has been saying. It was proven that by coming out with one class at a time, the game gets turned upside down for a while.

I dread the day pyros and engineers get their achievements... I mean I love playing engy and it would be fun, but the spy is my main. He'll be parked considering I predict there will be 6+ pyros per team when the pyro update goes through.

I still think the new needlegun that leeches health is unfair to spies.
