Hey everybody.

I've been thinking recently "Wouldn't it be nice to have [these] commands? it'd make things so much easier". Think to yourself, is it really 'easy' for detectives to call out kos/proven on the PG TTT server? They have to yell over everybody, and when they type it in chat, nobody pays attention. Also, how easy is it to remember every KOS/Proven, given that you heard them? That's why I thought of this:

Commands for KOS/Proven, which could do many different things- possibly send a message through chat in a bright color and possibly play a sound, or maybe have a HUD-type of log of users who are proven or KOS.

KOS- !kos [Name] / sm_KOS
Proven- !proven [name] / sm_Proven

I honestly know nothing about coding or development, so I don't know how hard this type of command would be. It would be a great addition though!

We can potentially make it so the steam group tag (where it normally shows DETECTIVE, TRAITOR, INNOCENT) changes to show whether they're KOS or PROVEN once the detective runs the command.

But I'm not sure if this would end up making the game easier or cause more RDM ...

Thoughts everyone?

Not a fan of this to be completely honest the whole point of TTT is for everyone to work together to eliminate all the traitors this just makes it way to easy for innocents. I could also see this causing RDM so -1

I think the balance is good as it is right now, Ofc its annoying that you dont know who is kos and who is proven but the confusion makes it so that t's can hide in all the screaming and talking of innos and D's. And i dont think it would lower the rdm rate, because you know if someone is kos or else you forgot there name and just shoot a random dude? dont think so

for this reason a -1 but it would be bad if its added

-1 it will just cause more rdm, and it would just suck ass, for not alot of players look at tap

Okay, I’m sorry but I’m not understanding here. How would it cause more RDM? I’m honestly lost.

Im all for the tag showing if someone is proven by detective. But the kos tag would let to more rdm becuase if a trolly detective was on they could get the whole server to kill a certain player.

Yeah that’s true. I mean the proven tag would be decent I guess.

But if a trolling detective is doing that, then he could prove the entire server aswell.
I feel like this cannot be an argument, because KOSing someone should only be done off scanning bodies (or watching someone kill innos) - and if a detective abuses that, then it's way easier to admin him, than if he was randomly calling out KOS' on people, and getting them killed anyway.

My own opinion is that if it is indeed implemented, the T:I/D ratio should be increased, so there would be more Ts (not many, but just one extra), only because it will be more difficult to be a T.

My only problem with this is that you would have to, as detective, do a command in chat or console every time you scan a body making it easier for t's to pick you off if you are scanning it on a more open area in a map, also in closed rooms it would prioritize people doing the command hoping the innos would kill the T rather then the detective attempting to kill them in that moment.

Do not add this.

While in Garry's Mod it is possible to tag a player Traitor, Trusted, Innocent, etc, it's only clientside. If a detectove marks someone as Trusted on their screen, only they see it. This is critical to game balance by keeping player communication relevent. If people dom't work together, traitors have it easy. If they do, traitors must be more intelligent in decision making.

This is just a huge handicap.

From my personal experience, having a bind set to call out traitor/inno can be a good thing. It works very well in the gmod version of the game, where there are radio commands specifically for it.
Not sure how easy it would be to program, but utilizing the AIM to call out whoever you're aimed at could be nifty.
Ex. You start getting shot at. You return fire but also hit another key on your mouse that says "Player X is a Traitor!" in chat.

I believe implementation of this feature would make players more attentive to chat AND allow players without mics to contribute more.

Edit: To add to the conversation, I do not agree with the idea that tagging players in the TAB menu is a good idea unless it only changes your HUD and not others. People would abuse that and become a nuisance.
