HI, I'M Trevorfenlon007, an =(eG)= of EGO. I recently passed my Academy with LSPD!!! And since you guys gave me a chance to join a community, I'll pay it back to the community, last year I made a guide on Tech Talk, a sticky that helps tweak your computer to bring it to the max, I will once again ask that you read that guide before you read my guide, since that guide really fixes a lot of things that are annoying with W10-W7, and also makes your gaming loads better!!! HERES THE GUIDE. <-- CLICK HERE
Now with what I do with all of my guides is that in depth to explain as much as I can to help you guys/gals understand this for the future, so all in all , ride this rollercoaster of settings I'll lay down on you guys, ready... Lets begin!!!
1. GTA BASIC GRAPHICS SETTINGS
2. GTA ADVANCED SETTINGS
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1.GTA GRAPHICS SETTINGS
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
IGNORE SUGGESTED LIMITS:This only affects lower grade cards, so if you have a rx480 or above, you can turn this off. This allows for you to load more graphics memory past what your card can handle.
DirectX Version: this changes what version directx you have for the physics engine to run off on, turn this to DX11, and if you have amd graphics card and amd cpu, go DX12, its favored towards AMD, if intel, go DX11.
SCREEN TYPE: Go Fullscreen, its the most optimised way of the game to display your game.
RESOLUTION: Set this to your monitor's resolution, if you have multiple monitors, set this to the monitor that has the highest refresh rate/resolution, this is a case by basis.
ASPECT RATIO: Dont set this to auto, actually find your aspect ratio, which can be done by searching up your monitor and seeing what aspect ratio it is or if you know it, set it.
REFRESH RATE: Set this to the highest the game will allow you, In the guide I mentioned above, I have a monitor overclocking section, read it, you can set the game to the monitor overclocked rate.
OUTPUT MONITOR: Set this to your monitor I mentioned in RESOLUTION settings above, once again, CASE BY CASE, if you have eyefinity/nvidia surround, go bonkers.
FXAA: ENABLE THIS, the advantage of using this is so that your computer dosent require lots of computing power to render the game, it does this by smoothing jagged edges according to pixel space in position to your monitor.
MSAA: Minimum 2x, but if you have 1080 ti's, go bonkers. Multisample anti-aliasing (MSAA) is a type of spatial anti-aliasing, a technique used in computer graphics to improve image quality
NVIDIA TXAA: OFF, but if you have 1070 or above, enable it. You can afford it. DO NOT ENABLE THIS IF YOU HAVE AMD GPU's, will suffer frames.
VSYNC: FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, PLEASE DISABLE THIS, VSYNC is only ever good when you have a VSYNC monitor when you run I5 CPU's and TI84 GPU, VSYNC is a way to keep old rigs good. VSYNC actually CONSTRICS FPS to 60 FPS, and will require a graphics card to keep up with 60 FPS with settings enabled, if you have a monitor that's more than 60HZ, DISABLE THIS.
PAUSE GAME ON FOCUS LOSS: If you are switching monitors, enable this, will save fps and load in quicker WHEN SWITCHING.
POPULATION DENSITY/ VARIETY/ DISTANCE SCALING: SET THIS CASE BY CASE BASIS, the things that will kill you is Population Density and Scaling
TEXTURE QUALITY: Set this to High, changes how good concrete or any material in this game looks.
SHADER QUALITY: Set this to High, this adjusts the color of this game and how the game looks, set it low, looks cartoony, set this to very high, more realism.
REFLECTION QUALITY and MSAA: this adjusts how the game reflects light and how good it does it, you can set this to high and X2
WATER QUALITY: Set this to High, only will notice this near dam, near beaches and near pools.
PARTICLE QUALITY: This changes how flashbangs, the smoke from a fire, how bullets get fired and things that emit a particle from the game and how good it looks, set this to high.
GRASS QUALITY: FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, please turn this to HIGH, there's no difference to how grass looks till you get crouched near grass to really tell the difference between high and very high, this affects how grass and trees are rendered and how good they look.
POST FX: CASE BY CASE, its a 0.4 difference in frames to render the game with Post FX, affects how comical the game looks
MOTION BLUR: No difference when STILL, but there is a DIFFERENCE when MOVING, also kind of makes you sick, so turn this off.
IN GAME DEPTH OF FIELD EFFECTS, This changes how you look at things from a distance, it adds more work to the gpu and cpu, so disable this, you can actually perform better, but for realism, you can enable this.
Anisotropic Filtering, you can set this to x16 if you have RX480 or above, almost no gain in fps when disabling this, but will make cpu work harder, but makes the game look good, and not so blurry.
Ambient Occlusion, more visual shit, but you can set this to high for amazing sunsets or dope af rain effects
Tessellation, you can enable this to Very High, Fixes edges on corners or fixes the curve of a rounded object, can be more finer.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. ADVANCED GRAPHICS
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LONG SHADOWS: affects shadows on tall objects, CASE BY CASE, i have it on because sunsets look dope af with long shadows.
HIGH RESOLUTION SHADOWS: affects how good a shadow looks, I have it on off, since you set the shadows on high, no real difference, and saves fps.
High Detail Streaming when Flying: For people on AIR ONE, you can enable this to on for some sick chases.
EXTENDED DISTANCE SCALING, this affects how much the game can render objects far away til the fog of war shows up: CASE BY CASE settings, but I advise it off, SLIDER TO LEFT
EXTENDED SHADOWS DISTANCE: you can enable this to off, only affects shadows. SLIDER TO LEFT.
FRAME SCALING MODE: this is kind of tricky to explain, but It's basically downsampling, but the game does it kind of wonky, I advise if you are to do it, you allow DSR in Nivida Control panel to the max you can support with your card and your monitor, allows the game to support custom resolutions past what your monitor can support, YES that means with NVIDIA Controll panel setting on and with the game on max frame scaling mode, you can pull off 16k graphics on a 4k monitor, but it will have a bad time doing it and can potentially crash. so be CAREFUL setting this one.
RESTORE DEFAULTS: this will restore default settings, which can fix a lot of settings that were mistakenly placed. On GTA, theres 2 versions it can reset to, one where its cloud based settings or locally on your computer. So make sure the defaults are not overridden by cloud settings.
And after all, the last thing is to eat Eggo waffles, They provide you the energy to be at your best when gaming.
This is what really gives you the Edge, in Edge Gamers!
